No More Monkeys Jumping On the Bed [Open]
Characters: An unwanted guest...and you
Content: BOSS BATTLE
Location: Fifth District Greenhouse
Time: Evening
Warnings: Violence. It’s a boss battle, guys. C’mon.
My, the Fifth District is nice this evening, isn’t it? Whether you’re just passing through or going Nightmare-hunting, you can’t deny that that greenhouse is a lovely feat of architecture. It might even distract you from the fact that you haven’t been attacked by Nightmares at all since you entered the district; an oddity, given that this area is usually very Nightmare-prone.
The peace and quiet doesn’t last long, however. There’s a rattle and an unholy screech undercut by the cacophony of shattering glass, and the greenhouse roof explodes outwards. You cover your face and turn away, waiting for the glass to settle before heading towards it. No matter whether you jump down from the broken roof or head in via the doorway, you’re greeted with the same sight: the upper half of a giant multicolored monkey. It screeches again; obviously it’s not happy to see you, and it’s about to make that known. Rearing back, it takes a swing at you with one massive paw.
Good luck.
[OOC: Welcome to your first boss fight! This is Hockomonkey and he doesn’t like you. Hockomonkey will be controlled by the mods, who will also determine (via dice roll - we’re kicking it D&D style) whether attacks land and how much damage they’ll do. We’ll keep the technical stuff on the back end - just write like you normally would. There is no tag order in this thread; however, we do ask that you keep up a relatively quick tagging pace, especially if your character teams up with any others for joint attacks or strategies.]

The bat was partway through an unintelligible reply when a horrific screech sounded in the district and something behind him shattered. He threw himself to the side on pure instinct, clutching Fang to his chest as he rolled in an attempt to shield the bat from whatever was going on. He rolled to a knee, releasing Fang and going for his rifle in one fluid movement, only to see the pavement covered in shattered glass and the roof of the greenhouse blown out.
On one hand, going towards whatever had caused that was probably a grade-A Bad Idea. On the other hand, there might be another clue to the increasingly complicated puzzle that was this city in there. He glances towards Fang, nods, and heads for the greenhouse door. Pushing it open, he slips inside, looking towards the broken roof, and-
Oh fuck that thing is big. And missing legs. But mostly big. He gapes for a moment, managing to get his head back in the game right as that paw comes flying at him and dodging, moving to throw himself out of the way.

Oh.
Emizel stood in the doorway in bewilderment while Moxie used him as a shield as normal. Man that thing really was huge. Bigger than anything else he seen so far. This one might actually be pretty tough.
Err, maybe now wasn't the best time to gawk though. He had better do something before the Nightmare saw him too.

When the large dream eater appeared, Lea jumped in front of Ienzo, barking. Ienzo, however, had no intention of staying; he could alert people more qualified to be - and interested in - fighting to deal with the threat. He pulled up his communicator to send a voice message out. "Everyone, there's a very large and very dangerous dream eater in the Fifth District. Assistance would be appreciated."

Righty O!
Emizel shot a fireball at one of the remaining hands that was right around to grab him, hopefully just enough to at least stun it for a moment so he could escape from it.
"Come on," he gestured to Moxie to follow him while they tried to make their way further inside the greenhouse, to seek out where the main body of that Nightmare went. It'll probably just keep toying them with more floating hands until someone did after all. He will just have to watch out for anything else coming his way while he did.

"Get between them and that...thing!" She shouted at Abby, who went off as quickly as possibly to get between the Nightmare's hand and Wash and Namine. And let it be pound to dust if it pisses her off. Clicking a clip into her side arm, she and Fluffy took an outside route to try to catch up to them, and make sure that for the moment they were all right.

Then again, it wasn't all that much stranger than fighting animated shoes, and after a brief moment of silence, she stepped into the fight proper, summoning her Keyblade before sending a blast of lightning at the nearest hand.

Curling up, he quickling performed a spin dash attack, hoping to catch the hand off guard and/or change its target to him instead.

There wasn't much time for celebrating, though. The body appeared again, and she knew the importance of attacking while she had a good chance. While she normally didn't like to use magic at the rate she was here, that seemed to be the best method of attack for this enemy. Thundaga having been effective before, she tried that again, while Axel used his fire again.

The main body was back and...it did nothing. "Now's our chance!" Bolin shouts, whether to his Spirits or to the other people around the garden is anyone's guess. He does motion for Ping, shouting, "Let's try that one move we've been working on."
Bolin rushes forward, followed closely by Ping and Mako Jr. hops atop Ping's head and squeak a battle cry. Bolin suddenly slides to a stop and jabs his hands forward. The ground beneath Ping suddenly detaches itself from the ground and launches towards the body...with Ping and Mako Jr. on it. Mako Jr. jumps first, spinning through the air and turning into a spinning fire wheel of lizardy fury aimed for the monkey's face. The large bodied cat-dog is not far behind and hurls itself, horn forward, towards the body. A fire strike and a physical assault...followed by a large, heavy boulder coming in fast. Bolin only hopes the technique works. It's a move he hasn't quite been able to practice that much yet.

A brief look around the greenhouse once she'd managed to blink the afterimage of the explosion out of didn't offer much consolation. Everyone at least seemed to properly accounted for, if in varying states of less than well and was that...?
"Ven!"
Her own injuries meant that she wasn't exactly moving as fast as she normally might have, but that didn't stop her from all but making a beeline towards where Ven was resting. She could heal herself later, and her Dream Eaters seemed to both be better off than she was so that wasn't going to be too much of a problem

I vote separate threads so as to keep things a bit neater. Wash & Namine

In a moment, she'd try to heal the Spirits a little more. She might have enough magic left for that.

Separate threads are good. Ienzo & Bolin
Lucky for Bolin his Spirits had taken the blunt of the blast since they had been in front. Well, okay, he wouldn't see it as lucky but that was besides the point. Bolin sat up with a groan. His body was sore and he was going to be pretty bruised if he didn't get a Cure spell or a poition soon.
That was nothing compared to the state of his Spirits. Bolin's eyes widened when he saw them unconscious and fading slightly at the edges. It wasn't good. It was very, very bad. Bolin grit his teeth and forced himself to his feet, stumbling forward, "Ping! Mako Jr! Hang in there!" Bolin had potions on him, but in his panic he forgot about them. After all, where hew as from he didn't usually HAVE those kinds of things.

Seperate threeeaaads |D [Open!]
Emizel slumped over and revealed more of the Meow Wow standing behind him, who also was roughed up but definitely not the same kind of shape. Its ears instantly went up with worry as soon as Emizel fell and tried barking a few times. With no response from that it tried nudging him instead and then barked some more. This really was going no where, however.
"Shut it. You're only making it worse--" he hadn't bothered looking at Moxie while saying so, the fact he was whining the entire time was enough to realize his presence. So what Emizel didn't expect was that sudden fuzzy feeling, and the pain from the explosion fading away.. well, slightly. He knew this kind of feeling though, it was a healing spell. But where, who--
".... You can..?" as Emizel turned over he noticed the horn glowing. Moxie knew how to heal, since when? Then again he was quite an amateur at it, so maybe that's why it never came up before.
Have a Sora
And they came across Emizel in the course of their searching, "Hey, are you okay? Do you need help?"
Frankly, all of the magic users should have known better. Mixing elements could be done safely, but it needed some planning not... what had just happened here. It was actually kind of amazing that the building was still standing.

Ziva and York
After it was over, she sat up, dazed and not a huge fan of this magic thing. If they all fought together again, there was going to have to be some sort of plan in place. She glanced up when she heard York's voice, and took the potion with a muttered 'thank you'.
"Giant nightmare, fighting, and way too much magic." She said, then uncorking the potion to drink it. She'd survived with a few scratches, she'd been worse. "I need to find Abby, and Fluffy. Make sure they are all right."

The things really seemed to work. He still wasn't sure how, but he figured it didn't matter if they did the job. He didn't really know how gel worked either, so it wasn't too different from home.

Tails and Xion
He owed her one big time now and would try to do something for her later, but for now he got to hus feet and examined her a moment. "Were you hurt?"
Blaze squeaked happily his thanks at her before joining his friends Barkley and Axel to make sure they were okay.
no subject
When he started getting to his feet, she shifted to give him room to move. "I'm fine--just got a little winded."
Barkley was a little worse for wear, but still chipper. He'd had enough healing to be on his feet, and both he and Axel were concerned about Blaze. Was he okay.

Aqua and Ven (and Luna?)
She couldn't say for certain whether or not it would be enough to bring Ven back to consciousness, but it would at least take care of any actual injuries he had.
