What's this, what's this?
Characters: Anyone who wanted to go explore the mansion
Content: Exploration!!
Location: The abandoned mansion
Time of Day: Whenever
Warnings: None
There have been rumors of it being haunted. There have been suggestions that what's inside might not be what people remember. Which is correct?
No one can say for sure, and the mansion certainly isn't about talk. The only answer to questions is waiting inside.
So come, step in through the crack in the wall. Explore the forest and what lies beyond. The answers have to be there somewhere after all.]

Of course, all of these areas held issues for battling the regular Nightmares too. Mercifully, Twilight Town was not saddled with any of the larger regulars. The Tama Sheep were the largest ones in the area so far and that wasn't all that large. Still, there was considerable cause to assume there would be some fighting. For that reason, Sora had Jelly Bean and Bruce on hand (since they both had healing abilities) and rather than leaving Toxy back at the hotel room, he had dismissed the Toximander instead so that it would be easier to bring him in if needed. He also had a fair stock of potions and ethers on hand.
He had stopped a short ways away from the crack to think a bit on whether or not he wanted to switch key chains. He didn't give it a lot of thought, though, and was just clipping Oblivion in place when he heard York calling out to someone. Looking up, he realized he wasn't the only one headed to the mansion. The other potential explorer was Celestia and... huh, now that he got to see her in person, she was bigger than he was expecting. Having spoken to Luna in person, he'd sort of expected her sister to be closer in size. Then again, likely Luna was the younger, but by how much? Judging by some of the things they'd said, they weren't exactly mortal, so it might be quite a bit more than a few years. That was all off topic anyway. He ought to let them know they had company.
"Mind a third?"

"Hi there. I hope I'm not late."

After all, if they were all together, she would be more readily able to protect them all. Not that she intended to smother and shield them against all harm; how would they ever grow and develop if they didn't challenge themselves? But she had no intention of letting any of them get into serious trouble.
She spread her wings slightly, not enough so those (honestly, pretty huge) limbs would get in the way. In a crowd, she had her own role to play, and intended to play it.

Hopefully with fewer explosions this time.
"We should all be careful; if we run into one of those big dream eaters, we'll need a lot of people to fight it." Or maybe it was just a randomly appearing creepy house that had nothing to do with the dream eaters. Sure.

At York's comment about the possibility of a giant Nightmare and what they'd need to fight it, he shook his head, "Actually, I think that might have gone better if fewer people had showed up. Or at least people more used to working with each other. Especially with magic involved."
Really, that had been the stumbling block. Too many people unaccustomed to working together and especially too many magic users not properly coordinating their efforts. Causing such an explosion from a safe distance and with no allies in the blast zone would have been effective, but inside of a greenhouse? With all that glass? Had anyone not been bleeding after that? The number of people had really only prompted the monkey to summon more hands to fight. Which might not have been so bad in a more open area, but they hadn't had that option.
Nor would they have such an option if a giant one showed up in the mansion...

Although there was other reasons why to step inside. After all it was the only place no one else had been able to go to so far, in there were any place left that might have some clues what everyone was doing in these worlds, it was likely here.
... Or any sort of story progression, for that matter.

Jack had watched Emizel approach the wall and grinned to himself. While it was true he was perfectly fine going on his own, it'd be a lot more fun to explore this supposedly haunted mansion with others. Jack flew over to the wall and dropped out of the sky next to Emizel.
"You're not going by yourself are you?"
no subject
Hopefully this wasn't where the next giant Dream Eater was going to show. Last thing Emizel wanted was another explosion.

Though Xion's experiences with the mansion in the past hadn't been pleasant, that wasn't enough to override any curiosity regarding its sudden appearance. Considering she was one of the few people there who had been to Twilight Town before, too, it seemed like a good idea to go in case some of the others needed help. While it wasn't easy to get lost there, prior knowledge always helped, and she could provide that.
When she got there, Jack and Emizel looked ready to go in. Barkley hurried over to greet their Spirits, while Manda stayed in her arms. Pooh and Axel had been dismissed, ready to be summoned if she needed them to trade with one of the others. "Is it okay if I come, too?"
no subject
Jack heard Barkley and turned to see Xion coming. He broke into a grin because if he was going to get another person in this little adventure team then certainly Xion would be a good addition. "Sure. Might be a little tougher than that snowball fight we had, but you can handle it, right?"
no subject
The barking had managed to ping him too, and Moxie joined in. Times like this Emizel was glad he had one dream eater that was relatively quiet.
As far as a response, he just gave a simple nod. Jack already invited her anyway so there was little else he could say. The more the merrier in this case.

Theta's still causing difficulties, but he thinks they have most of the anxiety under control. If he were less devoted, North would have pulled Theta and allowed himself to get some rest, but he's not so he didn't.
He figures visiting the mansion, which seems to be the source for all this, might help Theta confront his fears, so they head in. Hopefully, it will all go well.
no subject
"You don't mind anofur purrson joining, do you?"
no subject
There was a moment of hesitation when North arrived. Things were still rocky between them, and Wash still wasn't sure that he wanted to mess with that - not without being able to fix it - but he didn't want North to have to go in there alone, not when he could offer backup. Nepeta showing up didn't really change that. "Or two," he added, approaching the pair.

no subject
"Right," she answered with a nod. "Besides, the meowre we have, the easier it will be!"
no subject
It didn't take long to fight their way through the woods leading up to the forest, and the gates were already unlocked. Wash wasn't sure if that was a good thing or just creepy as hell - didn't a lot of horror movies start like this? He shrugged the thought off, glanced over his shoulder to make sure North and Nepeta were still with him and ready, and pushed open the mansion's front doors.

Ducking through the crack in the wall, Fluffy on her shoulder and Abby following closely behind, she stopped to look at the forest and the mansion in the distance.
"Let us have some fun." She said to the two spirits, watching as Fluffy took off ahead and Abby still followed behind her. She figured they were happy to be somewhere new, for now.

Still, he wasn't so reckless that he'd go it alone, so when he spotted someone else who seemed to be heading to the same place, Gray stopped to wave. "Hey, you heading to that mansion too? Want to team up?"
no subject
"I am headed that way, yes." She answered, "The post about it was too intriguing to not." Watching as Abby wandered on ahead, she smiled. "And yes. In this place, it seems that two or more is always better than one."
no subject
Satisfied that she seemed fine with teaming up, Gray started back towards the mansion. "I'm Gray, by the way. Have you fought any of those Nightmares?" It seemed like some people did and some didn't, he was just curious to know if she had information she could tell him. He did get that guide to the creatures, but he had only skimmed through it.
no subject
"My name is Ziva. As for the Nightmares, I have fought plenty of them so far. You have not?"
no subject
"Nice to meet you." Gray stated politely, impressed when she mentioned that she had fought a lot of them so far. "Yeah? Are they as tough as people say?" It seemed like everyone was cautious about tangling with them, which was understandable, but also made Gray eager to fight them. At her question, he shook his head. "I arrived here not too long ago. I'm not even sure how to use this little guy." He said, prodding at the Pricklemane perched on his shoulder.
