Nothing a Little Paint Can't Fix
Who: Rarity and Amaterasu
What: A minor paint job to make one Timberwolf slightly less terrifying.
Where: The Carousel Boutique, Ponyville Edition
When: Afternoon
Warnings: None
Admittedly, Rarity was still a bit embarrassed at her initial reaction to Amaterasu's appearance in Ponyville. It would have made perfect sense if she'd been a real timber wolf; as it was, it was simply a terrible way to greet a newcomer to the world. The Spirit fight that had ensued certainly hadn't helped matters. The best she could do now was be grateful that there were no real timberwolves in Ponyville at the moment and offer her services to Amaterasu. "Just a bit longer," she told her, referencing the pattern Ammy had drawn for her before carefully rounding out the curve of one of the blue lines she'd painted. "We're almost done."
Spike, sitting in a corner of the room, gnawed on the ball of yarn Rarity had given him (along with very firm instructions to behave) and kept an eye on Ammy's Spirits, just in case.

Chu wasn't present at the moment...there was just Susano, who was eyeing that ball of yarn with no small degree of interest, and Lucky, who kept casting his gaze about at the various shiny objects in the boutique. About the only thing keeping him from wandering off to paw at them was Ammy's insistence that he stay put.

Rarity inspected the designs painted on Ammy's face, making sure they matched the pattern. This was a very important client-specific job, after all, and it simply wouldn't do for it to be anything less than perfect. After a few moments, she stepped back and nodded. "Alright, I think that will just about do it." She magicked a hand mirror over from the corner, tilting it so Ammy could see her reflection. "What do you think?"

Lucky was starting to pace around, bored that he couldn't play with the shiny things. She was almost done, right?
Ammy sat up and shook herself out once Rarity finished. Phew, that was all done! She looked at her reflection in the mirror...aside from that still scary look that wood-wolves here apparently had, the paint was much closer to her usual markings. She wagged her tail, and barked once. Yes, she liked how it looked!

It was the grumbling that caught Rarity's attention. "Spike, dear, you really should share. It's rather rude not to." Still, she magicked down another brightly colored yarn ball for Susano, then picked a jewel - too big to swallow, not shaped quite right to go on any garment - and magicked it over to Lucky. She'd learned fairly quickly that keeping her guests' Spirits happy was a key part of keeping her guests happy.
"Wonderful!" She put the mirror away, then magicked her paintbrush over to the sink. "I'm glad you like it. Do let me know if you need anything else."

In the meanwhile, Lucky was more than happy to get a shiny thing of his own! He danced around with the jewel in mouth, not trying to swallow it, just wanting to carry it. Ammy did give him a barking warning, though: That's not to keep, just to borrow! You be sure to give it back when we're done.
Ammy considered this for a little bit, and glanced off to the side. Would it be good to have more paint matching the red markings that were on her shoulders? On the other hand, the sticks and leaves that sometimes fell off of her didn't always go back to the exact same spaces, and that could mess up the paint lines. As long as people could identify her well enough, then the markings on her face should be sufficient.
She sat, and shook her head no. This would be good!

That attitude didn't last long, however, as Spike was completely distracted by the bright light in the room and how it seemed to be attracted to his person. He bounded towards it, stopping short when it resolved itself into jewelry. What was that? Why was it around her neck? Was it safe?
"Oh!" Rarity gave an exclamation of surprise as the light appeared, relaxing slowly as it faded. That did look familiar, and for good reason - it had produced her Element from seemingly nowhere. She blinked for a moment. "Oh," she repeated at a slightly lower volume, still trying to process just what had happened. "It is nice to have my Element back. I am curious, though - why now?" Twilight would likely have a theory, but Twilight wasn't here. That left the current round of guessing up to her and Ammy.

Ammy stepped closer and sniffed at it. So this was her element? And they'd been looking all over for these things, only to have it appear out of nowhere? She looked up at Rarity as if to ask 'is that normal for this thing?'

Spike settled down considerably when he saw his person was taking it in stride. If it wouldn't hurt her, then things were good.

Okay, so this wasn't normal. But was this just another strangeness of the dream world, or had they specifically done something to make it show up? Because if it was the former, it would be a huge pain to just wait for these necklaces to randomly appear. What if it was making its appearance based on what they'd been doing?
She thought for a moment, and then picked up the paintbrush that Rarity had been using and tilted her head with it between her teeth. Did doing this painting on her face make the element appear?
