I'm Climbing Up The Walls - [Open]
Who: Amaterasu and anyone else!
What: Ammy's got some new Spirits, and wants to teach them some old tricks...
Where: Tram Common area in Twilight Town
When: Afternoon
Warnings: None thusfar
Amaterasu has decided to make two new Spirits as a result of her playing games at the carnival, and at least one of these she felt could help her out in another manner. However, that meant she had to give it a little training.
So, she stood with her two new Spirits -a Cyber Yog she'd named Chu, and a Necho Cat named Lucky- beside one of the tall walls stretching up the Square in the tram area. She sat down next to the wall, considered it for a moment, and then sat up so that she was placing both her front paws against the wall. She turned back just slightly towards her two Spirits, trying to remember the pose that Kabegami always stood in. Lucky tilted her head at her.
She barked back to the Necho Cat: when I ask, stand against the wall like this. Do you understand?
Lucky gave a little head roll and sauntered over to the wall. Was that all? Sure, she could do that. She sat down beside Ammy and placed her paws against the brick surface. Like this? That was easy!
Ammy nodded, and walked back towards Chu. Lucky started to follow, but Ammy barked back to her: no! Just stay that way for a moment!
Lucky looked a little sheepish, and resumed the asked position. Once Ammy had enough distance between them, she pulled up her canvas and tested out her brush. There was purple smoke coming off her brush when over Lucky...first step, good! Once she had that, she painted a line off of the Spirit and up the wall.
Lucky seemed to live up to his name, since once she resumed time, there was a telltale line of glowing paw prints up the side of the wall, starting from Lucky. Just one more test to do! Ammy ran forward, and jumped up onto the pawprint line. She gave a couple experimental jumps, and found her paws sticking to the wall, just as she'd hoped.
Still stuck halfway up the wall like a bug, she turned her head and barked down to Lucky: Yes! It's supposed to go just like this!

"Oh, it's a regular Spirit team-up," he said as he stepped forward, looking back from Cat to dog with a frown. Something didn't seem right about this, though...
The image of a talking horse popped into his head abruptly. Not all these creatures were Dream Eaters after all, were they? But then again, the horses did talk.
...another image popped into his head, of a girl that didn't. "I am officially no longer sure where the line is any more," he mumbled.

She gave him a look as if to say "what line?"

She cocked her had at him in confusion. Yes, the Dream Eaters had odd colors and horns, but why would he want them to sound like girls?

Ammy cocked her head at Edge in confusion. What was a chocobo?
no subject
"All right, smart guy -- what if a Dream Eater from another world showed up here personally instead of being made from figments? Would IT get Spirit companions?"
On the other hand, watching him make insane arguments in the direction of a Dream Eater is good comedy value, isn't it?

Ammy groaned a little...could he understand Dream Eaters, but not wolves? That seemed pretty odd. Regardless, she still wanted to see about her question. So, she went for her next nonverbal tactic: she pulled out a piece of paper, set it in front of her, and painted her confusion.
And since she was painting with her tail, it would look like the ink was suddenly forming itself right onto the page.

He DEFINITELY hadn't heard of dogs making punctuation appear on sheets of paper before, and it surprised him so much he nearly tripped over his own cape as he took an involuntary step backwards.
"What -- how -- Did you just -- what just happened?!"
no subject
She pulled out another sheet of paper, and painted another picture:

He already knew the answer -- that pooch here wasn't an Eidolon any more than the ponies were -- but he had to hope just a little that maybe Ammy would fit into an understandable category.

He took a deep breath, ran his hands down his face, and rallied. "So! Now I understand a lot more, anyway. You're a magic dog... somehow!" Ugh, was it right to pet a magic dog that was clearly sentient like an ordinary dog? Well, she hadn't bitten him. "I... guess I should introduce myself. The name's Edge!"
no subject
Ammy liked pets and scratches, personally. Just because she was a god didn't mean she didn't appreciate some affection. She nodded acknowledgement, pulled out another sheet of paper, and painted her name on it. Considering she only knew how to write her name in Japanese, it was another matter entirely whether Edge would be able to read it.
no subject
"Nope, you lost me," he said with a cheerful shrug. "Guess the world you come from is a pretty strange one even by the standards here! So does anyone around here speak... dog language, I guess?" Having a translator would sure be helpful...
no subject
She nodded, but did so with a bit of a shrug. Only a couple people seemed to, and she wasn't sure if they were all here anymore. Besides, she was used to nicknames. If he wanted to call her something else, she didn't mind that much.
no subject
How weird would that be -- talking through someone else so as to have a meeting of the minds with a big pooch. What has his life become...?
Actually he was unwilling to just nickname her randomly. For one, he had no idea if she was okay with it, and if she's intelligent, just picking one might be insulting. For another, spending time with a Caller had made him aware of the importance of names...
no subject
Anyway, she hadn't seen anyone who could read that around for awhile. She sat down and yawned, looking all around the town buildings about them.

Heaven help him, he's trying his best to understand something so far out of his element...

"Oh good, I was starting to wonder if someone was holding out some special tricks on me! Okay, is that YOUR special power, or do pooches where you come from all have tricks like that?"
...he really wanted to avoid "bark once for yes, twice for no" if he could help it...
