Bolin, with the help of Spirits, Moogles, and various other people had finally finished setting up the party. There were tables laden with different kinds of food of course and decorations everywhere. They'd made sure to clear a space for dancing and Perry the Platypus had volunteered to DJ with some equipment borrowed from the moogles for the night. Bolin wished there could be more people so they could have games and stuff like a proper street festival...but for what he had he felt it was pretty good.

Now they just needed people to show up for the fun.

"Nah, she's probably just around having fun. Everyone should get to." He had no idea whether the ponies would dress up for things. On the one hand, a pony dressmaker seemed weird, since they didn't seem to wear clothes much. On the other, maybe they just had really high standards.

'Should', huh. "Whether they want to or not?" Carolina asked, not quite pointedly, shooting York a cool look.

It wouldn't have surprised her to know all ponies had high standards of some kind. Rarity had certainly been thorough with hat fittings for Dax. Never mind her own outfit.

York laughed. "Are there people who don't ever want to have fun?" he asked. I know about wanting to put fun off until work is done, but that's different.

"There's a time and a place for everything. And sometimes, there's no time for fun." It was supposed to be a light hearted quip in reply, but the words ended up blunter by the end than she'd intended. Her shoulders squared a little.

Carolina hadn't exactly had time or reason for fun in the past few years.

"Fair enough." York shrugged. It was true. "But if there's a time for fun, it's definitely now."

She was silent for a minute. Then, slowly, a small but rather genuine smile twitched at the corners of her mouth. Carolina didn't deserve a friend like York. But there were times she was glad he made her put up with him anyway.

Bare shoulder bumped his arm lightly, before her attention turned back to the party at large. They weren't the only ones here for fun, after all.

York grinned. It was hard to get smiles out of her sometimes, but it was always worth it. He hadn't seen enough of them out of his friend towards the end there.
