Bolin, with the help of Spirits, Moogles, and various other people had finally finished setting up the party. There were tables laden with different kinds of food of course and decorations everywhere. They'd made sure to clear a space for dancing and Perry the Platypus had volunteered to DJ with some equipment borrowed from the moogles for the night. Bolin wished there could be more people so they could have games and stuff like a proper street festival...but for what he had he felt it was pretty good.

Now they just needed people to show up for the fun.

Awwwyis, Fluffy knows what it's about. Dax churrred happily at the bat, before nomming down the new offering. Their persons would get over it. "I'm sure they will," said Carolina, with certainty, looking over the spread. What would you recommend?" Was anything spicy?

Lips pursed while considering her options. She wasn't greatly hungry, but it would have been rude to walk away without taking a plate of food with her. And what she didn't eat, she was fairly sure she could pass on to York when the man showed up again.

"Well, it depends on what you are looking for." She motioned towards one row of food. "This is more on the bland side. And to the left is what is more spicy." She explained a bit more as she pointed things out.

"A little of everything, perhaps," the redhead said, even as Carolina gravitated more towards the hotter selection right off the bat. Dax snuffled in the direction of the human foods, before nomming once again on his treat. Seemed like everyone had something to suit them!

"Did you find time to eat in the middle of preparing all this?" Wouldn't do for the cook to pass out from not consuming some of their own handiwork, after all!

Ziva shrugged. "A bit. Mostly taste testing, but nothing of the finished product. I have had most of it before. That is how I know which ones would be best." She noticed where Carolina was looking.

"If you want spicy, try this." She motioned to a plate of chicken wings. "You will probably like them. But, I would not give them to Dax, his fire may become slightly too hot."

Spicy? Ewwww. Dax made a disagreeable sound. "I don't have any concerns there. He's got less tolerance for hot food than Florida." That poor man. Nonetheless, Carolina does set a couple of the chicken wings onto one side of her plate. Small helpings selected, all round - she wasn't used to so much food, or having much of an appetite anymore. It was better not to push it.

"Been a long time since I had access to anything like this," she commented offhandly. "Thank you. For the effort."

She laughed at the sound Dax made. Sounded similar to one when Abby had grabbed the wrong thing during the cooking sprint... Yeah, that hadn't ended well. But at least the panda now knew to not grab random things off the counter and eat them.

"Enjoy." Ziva said. "And let me know what you think, it has been a while since I have cooked some of these things."

The lazy spirit had no appreciation for spicy food, was all. Carolina simply shook her head at him, before offering Ziva a very rare half-smile. "I'm afraid mine's not a particularly cultured palate," which was a bonus, really, because MREs? Could easily kill anyone's taste buds, "but I'll let you know." Brief as that smile was, it made it clear she'd be sure to do so.

"Let me guess, do you take your coffee black, no sugar? A spoon could stand straight up in it?" The freelancers sometimes reminded her of Gibbs... She figured it was the Marine part.

"Thank you." She said to the last comment. She really wanted to make sure her cooking skills were still up to where they used to be.

There was a faint snort. "Creamer's an expensive commodity, especially during war time," Carolina replied, tilting a shoulder in a lazy shrug. "And some nights needed a blacker coffee than others."

Carolina can appreciate that feeling, which was why there was simply a second nod of acknowledgement before she went back to picking at other foods.
