4. Party Rock Anthem
Characters: Party People
Content: Bolin hosts a block party in Twilight Town. Food, fun, and partying! Whoo!
Location (including world): Twilight Town, The Sandlot
Time of Day: Late afternoon and into the night
Warnings: Excessive partying?
Notes: Feel free to start your own sub-threads, thread-jack, and just have fun. Open free for all is the style for threading.
Bolin, with the help of Spirits, Moogles, and various other people had finally finished setting up the party. There were tables laden with different kinds of food of course and decorations everywhere. They'd made sure to clear a space for dancing and Perry the Platypus had volunteered to DJ with some equipment borrowed from the moogles for the night. Bolin wished there could be more people so they could have games and stuff like a proper street festival...but for what he had he felt it was pretty good.
Now they just needed people to show up for the fun.

"How about you, want anything?" Ducky bobbed a 'yes', and she grabbed something to toss down to him. "Melody?"

"Yeah. I know." Wash didn't particularly want to dwell on it, and he was pretty sure Ziva didn't either. Instead, he took a bite of a chicken wing and paused. The were MREs, and then there were pastries from the cafe, and there was food he could prepare himself with minimal danger of setting anything on fire, and then there was this. This was the best he'd eaten in a very long time, hands down, and for a few moments all he could do was take it in. It took him about that long to remember to swallow. "Oh my God," he said slowly. "Ziva, this is amazing."

Glancing at Wash, she figured he did. And she hoped he didn't fault her for disappearing for the past few days. Her dreams were starting to get the best of her, and she needed to get away for a while. She knew when the nightmares came back, they would get worse though, she just hoped she could stop them now, before that happened.
She watched him as he tried the food, and noticed that he paused for a second. She hoped it wasn't that bad. She'd made that recipe before, and it turned out pretty good. But, she realized she was wrong, and chuckled, before ducking her head when she felt her cheeks start to heat up. Sure, she was a good cook, but that good?
"Thank you."

Wash finished the wing he was working on and downed another. Now that he'd taken a moment to savor the food, he couldn't seem to clean his plate fast enough. He paused after a third wing, partially to catch his breath and partially because the last thing he needed to do was act like Grif in front of his girlfriend. "No, seriously, I don't remember the last time I had food this good." It had to have been while he was on leave at some point before things started falling apart in the Project; the Mother's food wasn't this good, prison food definitely wasn't this good, and food at base was passable at best. This was something else entirely.

She reached over to grab one of the sandwiches she made for herself, tearing a piece off for the flower spirit at her feet. She knows the food is good, but it's much better if you're sleep deprived and haven't truly had a meal in days. (Which is what she did, because she's been on auto pilot.)
"You will have to let me know what else you like. I can make any of this in the future."

Wash left his plate on the table and moved closer to Ziva, emboldened by good food and even better company. "If you make it, I'll probably like it." Okay, that was cheesy as hell, but she didn't usually care about that and right now he didn't either. Instead, he waited until she was between bites, then leaned in and kissed her full on the lips.
It wasn't a long kiss - he pulled away the moment he felt himself start to slip - but for now, it was enough. He smiled at her. "Thanks."

She felt him move closer, and leaned against him for a moment before straightening up again. She paused for a moment in her snack to grab a napkin herself, wiping off a bit of stuff on her face before getting ready to make another comment to Wash.
But was cut off when he leaned in and kissed her. She hadn't been expecting that at all, but she wasn't going to complain... it was a very welcome surprise. When he pulled away, she had a moment where she stopped and blinked at him a few times, before smiling sheepishly.
"You are welcome." She said quietly, before resting her forehead against his chest. This party was turning out to be more than she thought it could be.

"A picnic might be nice," he murmured. "Maybe we'll actually get a world with sun next time."

"A place with a beach would be nice too... Wishful thinking, I know." She smiled, even though she know he couldn't see it. "I do miss that from home sometimes."
