4. Party Rock Anthem
Characters: Party People
Content: Bolin hosts a block party in Twilight Town. Food, fun, and partying! Whoo!
Location (including world): Twilight Town, The Sandlot
Time of Day: Late afternoon and into the night
Warnings: Excessive partying?
Notes: Feel free to start your own sub-threads, thread-jack, and just have fun. Open free for all is the style for threading.
Bolin, with the help of Spirits, Moogles, and various other people had finally finished setting up the party. There were tables laden with different kinds of food of course and decorations everywhere. They'd made sure to clear a space for dancing and Perry the Platypus had volunteered to DJ with some equipment borrowed from the moogles for the night. Bolin wished there could be more people so they could have games and stuff like a proper street festival...but for what he had he felt it was pretty good.
Now they just needed people to show up for the fun.

As he looked the dress over, he couldn't help a chuckle. "Definitely not moogle wear. No ridiculous belts. It's really perfect for you." Epsilon wasn't being like Tucker at all. He just didn't feel like that regarding Carolina. These were honest compliments.
Allison wasn't impressed. He looked silly, and then there was the paint. Why weren't his natural colors good enough for him?
no subject
Dax trilled uncertainly at Allison, disappointed that she didn't seem as impressed by his hat as he was. But he certainly took umbrage when she commented on the paint - this was his Person's colour! His Person was awesome, and he was awesome, so clearly they should match while at the party, right? He thought so, anyway.
"Well.. Thank you." Her voice was a little less certain, making it clear that Carolina wasn't expecting an actual compliment; at least the reaction here was better than the one poor Caboose got - even if the circumstances were wildly different. Nonetheless, it isn't a topic she lingers on long. "I'm sure there's other things aside from food. Though it is a shame you can't try any of it." Downside of the dream world's 'reality' being just real enough.
no subject
Allison actually paused at that. In that case, the paint job wasn't too bad. The hat was still strange.
He chuckled at the change in topic, but he would cooperate. "Looks like the Moogles are here to make money. Could be interesting to see what they set up." Epsilon shrugged at the idea of food. "Used to it. Being a robot isn't so bad. Beats a Mongoose or being in with Tucker's porn."
no subject
Plenty of time for it to prove her wrong, however.
Allison could think what she wanted to: Dax thought top hats were cool. (But a fez would probably be amazing.)
"When are the moogles ever not out to make money." Lips flatten into a thin line for a moment, adding a tiredness to her expression that she'd managed to keep away thus far, before it disappeared again. "But they're not the only ones around here. It's been interesting, to see who else has been pulled into this mess like we have." No one needs to hear about Tucker's porn collection, Epsilon, least of all Carolina, who merely rolled her eyes.
no subject
Allison would keep disagreeing.
"Never. They're usual enough for supplies." Epsilon hesitated at that. "Also, I'm not that social an AI, and Wash is here somewhere."
no subject
Dax tipped his hat back into position with a sniff. Just wait until you've got a hat, Allison, you'd totally change your mind then!
"Well, if they have a stand here, maybe they'll have a training toy you can give to him." Carolina frowned at the mention of Wash. "I'm hardly social either." And then some. "You'll be fine, just don't approach him if you see him." And, hopefully, Wash would do the same.
no subject
Alison looked at the other Dream Eater, rolling her eyes. She didn't need a hat.
Epsilon nodded at the thought of a training toy. "Sounds like a better plan than Allison always babysitting him." He'd laugh at the thought of Carolina being social, but he didn't want to get hit for it. "I promise, I'll stay away. Far away."
no subject
"I haven't seen them in action, but who knows? Maybe they'll help with your aim, too." Well, if wishes were horses..
She knew how to be social, once! Did the nightclub scene and everything, several life times ago.. But her being in a dress certainly wouldn't save Epsilon from an embarassing and potentially painful beatdown if Carolina put her mind to it. "You don't need to make that promise to me," she chided lightly. "But at least say hello to Theta and Delta while you're out and about." North and York too, of course, but that went without saying.
no subject
He can't help glaring at Carolina for that. "Oh, shut up." At least he was no longer denying his shit aim. An improvement there.
Yea, well Epsilon never got to see that Carolina. And he damn well knew she'd maim him. So his mouth is shut. He paused. "If I see them, I will. I like seeing them."
no subject
The glare just earned the briefest grin, a hint of teeth, before a deliberately false innocence is projected his way. "I'm quite serious. But at worst, you'll get some bonding time in while they flatten you." Is that body waterproof? It might make water barrel training difficult, if not.
"I'm glad to hear it." They'd all been gone by the time Epsilon was.. awake. Aware. Sane, really. "Have you been able to see them much while you've been here?"
no subject
Epsilon sighed at that. "I guess you have a point in that. And maybe things will be easier with the new one." Of course the body was waterproof. Otherwise, it'd be a pain to deal with any weather. And this body isn't Sarge's work, after all.
There was a pause. "Some. See more of Delta than Theta, generally."
no subject
"Start small, and work your way forwards. I'm sure Allison will help you, Church." The most helpful pricklemane ever. Of all time. And thank heavens for small favours - finding replacement parts or paint for Epsilon wasn't likely easy.
That sounded about right, come to think of it. "Theta seems less shy than I remember of him, here," she shrugged, but it didn't sound like that was considered a bad thing in her eyes.
no subject
Epsilon paused to think that over. "Even with the Nightmares, this place is safer than Freelancer was for him."
no subject
Healing magic that worked on robots? That would probably start the fail loop of logical application again, and Heaven knew York had managed to give Carolina a migrane when talking her through the idiosyncrasies of the dream realm in the first days she'd been there.
"I'm sure you'll both figure something out," she replied, keeping amusement to the edges of her voice; it was a real enough concern, and wayward team members would only server to get people killed. ..Again.
Carolina's face went still. It was true: even before everything unraveled like a threadbare tapestry, Project Freelancer had hardly been safe - compared to the missions and the training and the inevitable treachery of that past life, this place was as safe as you could get. "For all of you," she corrected after a moment. Aforementioned nightmares aside.
no subject
He paused, watching Carolina at that last comment. Even if he doesn't remember everything... He knows she's all too right. "You're right about that. It wasn't safe for anyone."
no subject
Another thought occurred to her. "Think it likely there may be spare parts on the ship?" There had been caches of ammo and weapons, after all. And Church's body at least appeared to be UNSC standard techology.
"I'm not sure this place is either. But you're right that it IS 'safer'." Carolina's tune would probably change when the tide of bad dreams rolled in, but for the moment, things seemed to be working out okay.

No, seriously. That's a joke, right?

"That doesn't sound physically possible.." ..And occasionally it might give her ideas you may regret. "So, if I shot you, the damage could be fixed with magic?"

Epsilon would simply have to avoid pissing her off, clearly.
Instead, she smoothed out the skirt of her dress with one hand, before turning back towards the crowd. "I better find York before he gets any ideas. Don't you forget to say hello to Delta and Theta."
no subject
Epsilon grumbles a bit before replying. "Fine. I'll get right on that. Have fun with York."
