4. Party Rock Anthem

Characters: Party People
Content: Bolin hosts a block party in Twilight Town. Food, fun, and partying! Whoo!
Location (including world): Twilight Town, The Sandlot
Time of Day: Late afternoon and into the night
Warnings: Excessive partying?
Notes: Feel free to start your own sub-threads, thread-jack, and just have fun. Open free for all is the style for threading.

Bolin, with the help of Spirits, Moogles, and various other people had finally finished setting up the party. There were tables laden with different kinds of food of course and decorations everywhere. They'd made sure to clear a space for dancing and Perry the Platypus had volunteered to DJ with some equipment borrowed from the moogles for the night. Bolin wished there could be more people so they could have games and stuff like a proper street festival...but for what he had he felt it was pretty good.

Now they just needed people to show up for the fun.

Perry was still trying to figure out how to communicate. He didn't seem to have this problem back home. Then again, most people he "talked" to had known him for a long time. They could practically read his thoughts from his expressions alone. He'd taken to carrying a notepad to draw or write with but that could be a little troublesome too.

He sipped from his punch and then nodded. He set it down and pulled out the notepad and pen. He wrote: You're welcome.

Followed by: It was better than not trying.

Eraqus didn't know how Perry communicated back home (for all he knew, perhaps everyone spoke without actual words), but the notepad seemed to work fine for now. He took a sip from his own drink while Perry took the time to write.

"Yes. And it's elliminated some possibilities, even if many are left." He noted the Kooma Panda operating the music selection. "And you set up the music here, too?"

Perry nodded, smiling slightly at his partner Spirit. It hadn't been too difficult since he knew how to operate the machinery and he knew his way around the system. He wrote again: That's Kent.

Kent seemed to be enjoying himself. Although it might be hard to tell since Kent kept a very serious expression as he changed discs. The Kooma Panda was just a wee bit intimidating.

"Impressive." With this multitude of skills, he had to wonder what Perry's normal occupation was on his home world. He noted the Kooma Panda...in general they were all quite a bit intimidating, but Kent seemed a lot more serious-minded than Gengo.

"Is this what you normally do?"

Perry shook his head. Music was a hobby and something he liked a lot. It was not, however, his job. He wasn't sure, however, if he should be giving away his job either. Most here just accepted that he was an intelligent, capable, platypus who didn't say much. And while it was kind of blowing his cover, he could always get away with telling OWCA that he HADN'T technically revealed himself as a secret agent. That was something.

Granted he'd be in real trouble if any of his family showed up, however he was hoping that since technically this was a dream he could also get away with not having to move away forever. But, one worry at a time. So far the Flynn-Fletchers had not appeared on any of the worlds so Perry felt fairly safe.

Perry decided he'd just wait and see if Eraqus asked him about "his job".

Hmm, so music wasn't his main work. Perhaps unfortunately for Perry, Eraqus did decide to ask him. "Then what do you normally do?" He highly doubted that Perry was 'just a pet,' if that's what he was in the first place, considering his working knowledge and intelligence.

Perry debated it for a moment. But eventually he figured he could say. It wasn't like Phineas or the others were here. Plus, this being a dream, it didn't seem like too big of a deal.

Perry pulled out his notebook again and jotted down:
Prevent evil scientists from taking over the tri-state area. I'm also a pet, secret identity. Don't tell Phineas, Ferb, or Candice...if they ever arrive. Please.

Out of all the responses he could get, Eraqus didn't think he was quite expecting something like that. And yet, considering what he'd seen of Perry so far...it did make quite a bit of sense. He had a lot of diverse skills that a fighter could probably make use of.

Well, he at least understood the necessity of keeping one's true identity and purpose a secret. Eraqus nodded. "All right. What do they look like, should they arrive here?"

Perry was relieved that Eraqus would comply. He knew it was probably a strange sounding request but it seemed he was right in trusting the man. Besides, knowing it was a dream, perhaps if they did show up he would change his mind. But he wanted that to be on his own terms and not blurted out accidentally by someone who would be a stranger to Phineas and the others.

Perry doodled quickly on the notebook, just a quick sketch of three kids of various heights and shapes who were all so special to him and held it up, each kid was labeled accordingly.

Eraqus watched as Perry sketched, and then studied the drawing once it was presented to him. On top of everything else, Perry seemed to be a pretty good artist. The kids also looked pretty...unique, if nothing else. They would probably be easy to spot if they did show up.

He nodded again. "Very well, I'll keep an eye out for them. Anyone else I should be aware of?"

Perry considered it for a moment and then rolled his eyes. How could he have forgotten him. He sighed and did another sketch. This time it was of a man in a labcoat with messy hair and hunched shoulders. He was scowling. Under this drawing he wrote the following: "Doctor Doofenshmirtz. Possibly dangerous. Evil Scientist."
hiptobe_eraqus: (Excuse me?)

[personal profile] hiptobe_eraqus 2013-07-24 06:52 am (UTC)(link)
Eraqus watched as he drew again, and frowned at the caricature. Clearly this wasn't a friend of Perry's. From the sound of it, he seemed like local villainy. Perhaps not a threat beyond Perry's ability, but in a different setting like the dream world, that could change.

"Also noted. What is he capable of?"

Perry underlines the "scientist" part and then adds "inventor, very creative." There never really seems to be a LIMIT to Doof after all. Besides, while Perry thwarts him it's not like his inventions DON'T work. It's the whole reason he's a threat in the first place. If Perry didn't stop him, he WOULD take over the Tri-State area.

Eraqus studied Perry's answer. That wasn't the sort of enemy he was used to fighting. But then again, that didn't mean that a scientist wasn't capable of some terrible things...indeed, sometimes they felt science was an excuse to do most anything they wanted.

"I'll keep that in mind," he replied. "And if he did arrive here, hopefully he wouldn't have access to the same resources as your home world." But mostly he just hoped they wouldn't have to deal with more trouble like that.
