Bolin, with the help of Spirits, Moogles, and various other people had finally finished setting up the party. There were tables laden with different kinds of food of course and decorations everywhere. They'd made sure to clear a space for dancing and Perry the Platypus had volunteered to DJ with some equipment borrowed from the moogles for the night. Bolin wished there could be more people so they could have games and stuff like a proper street festival...but for what he had he felt it was pretty good.

Now they just needed people to show up for the fun.

Jack got his next ball from March. Only two left now. He aimed carefully again and tossed!

And the ball missed the table entirely.

"Ooh, tough break, kupo."

Snowball made that same chitter sound that he associated with her chuckling and even March seemed to grin a little too. March held up the last ball.

Jack took it. He was very determined and tossed it again.

The ball bounced off half a dozen rims before landing in one of the outermost bowls. "There you go, kupo! That'll make a Meow Wow."

Nope. That wasn't going to cut it. Jack wanted that center bowl. He wasn't sure WHEN he'd decided he wasn't going to stop until he had it, but Jack was always a little bit competitive.

He reached into his pockets and produced munny enough for three more balls. Surely he'd only need three more times, right?

That was the look of someone who was about to make this Moogle a lot of money. Steven was particularly happy with the idea. He placed three more balls on the table. "Good luck, kupo!"

"Thanks," he grunted and picked up the first ball. He tossed the balls one after another in quick succession.

The balls plinked across the table, bouncing off rims and each other, until they each settled in a bowl. None of them managed to hit the center. "That's another Wheeflower, a Peepsta Hoo, and a Cyber Yog, kupo."

Jack frowned, although the Peepsta Hoo and Cyber Yog sounded more to his speed when it came to Dream Eaters.

He took the pieces and placed six more munny on the counter. He was going to get that center bowl darn it!

Steve swapped the munny out for three balls. "You're really set on that middle prize, huh, kupo?"

"Yeah. I gotta get it eventually."

Oh Jack, logic doesn't apply to carnival games.

"Besides. I don't really spend much munny and I've been getting a lot of the Nightmares lately." He picked up the first of the balls and then just shrugged and picked up the other two. He started juggling them in front of the booth and one by one tossed them towards the bowls.

Took you long enough, man. WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER

That wasn't always how it worked, but munny was munny and Steven wasn't about to turn down a paying customer. He just watched as the first ball sailed over the table completely, the second ball bounced off the table and hit the floor, and the third ball landed squarely in that center bowl. Evidently there was something to be said for persistence. "Congratulations, you won the big prize, kupo!" He handed Jack the pieces. "That'll make a Kab Kannon. They're really rare, kupo!"

SCORE! NOW HE DOESN'T HAVE TO GO BROKE

Jack whooped loudly when the final ball sank into the middle bowl. He was so excited he managed to flip up into the air and landed with a big grin. "Woo-hoo!"

Snowball and March celebrated too. They'd started to get bored of watching Jack miss or not make the center bowl. They could finally move on. At least they were going to get a BUNCH of new friends out of this. Or so they hoped, they knew Jack didn't seem very interested in collecting a menagerie.

"Way to go, kupo!" Steven nodded as he started refilling bowls. There were quite a few empty ones this time around.

Jack hefted up his winnings and grinned at March and Snowball, "Come on guys. Let's go sort through these pieces."

He looked back to the moogle, "Thanks."

"No problem, kupo!" Steven waved as Jack headed off.
