4. Party Rock Anthem

Content: Bolin hosts a block party in Twilight Town. Food, fun, and partying! Whoo!

Bolin, with the help of Spirits, Moogles, and various other people had finally finished setting up the party. There were tables laden with different kinds of food of course and decorations everywhere. They'd made sure to clear a space for dancing and Perry the Platypus had volunteered to DJ with some equipment borrowed from the moogles for the night. Bolin wished there could be more people so they could have games and stuff like a proper street festival...but for what he had he felt it was pretty good.
Now they just needed people to show up for the fun.

She peered into the bucket to see what his version of the ice cream looked like. "Awww...It melted on the way." Odd, since most of the other ice cream looked fine.

He'd kept it in for a few hours, but something may have gone wrong in the process to prevent actual freezing. "I haven't tried it yet."

He nodded, and dug out the ice cream bar from the cooler, as well as scooping some of his homemade special into a cup. It was probably safer than a cone after all.
"I hope it's alright."

Xion accepted the ice cream bar and cup, then set the ice cream bar off to the side while she sampled the ice cream soup. After one spoonful, she tilted her head in thought and gave a small smile.
"A little more salty than the other kind, but okay."

If it really was just salt, then Roxas hadn't done as badly as he'd thought. And that would be easy enough to correct the next time around. Maybe it was time to try some of his own creation.

Not that Xion was an expert on ice cream, but that seemed to be the only problem. Given other circumstances Xion would have given him her spoon and let him try some of hers. That didn't really seem necessary now.

He must have just read the recipe wrong, or something like that. Maybe there was someone he could ask about it.

It could be any one of a number of things that had led to the ice cream not turning out quite right. Hopefully it would be a simple fix.

He glanced around, looking for a piece of paper so he could make a note to himself.
"Are you enjoying the party?"

Unfortunately, she didn't have any paper herself, but she could help him look.
"I think so. There's a lot to do."

He had to keep it all cool after all. Roxas digs around in the cash box. There should be something in there. Aha! Found some. Now he just needed something to write with.

It would be nice if they could walk around together later, maybe once Xion had her bearings. For now, she managed to find a pencil in her pocket and gave it to Roxas. "Here, maybe this will work."

They were mostly running the show it seemed, so one of them might not mind if he went for a break.
"Thanks." He took the pencil with a nod, before scribbling the information down on paper and stuffing it in his pocket.

It would be too bad to spend a first party just hanging out on the sidelines...unless, of course, they wanted to, but that didn't seem like the case here.
"You're welcome." Xion waited while he wrote.

It still had to be watched after all, but the idea of wandering around the party sounded fun.

Xion waved as she moved away to look around and find a Moogle. No, the ice cream shouldn't be left unattended, but if Roxas wanted to see the party, he should be able to.
