4. Party Rock Anthem

Bolin, with the help of Spirits, Moogles, and various other people had finally finished setting up the party. There were tables laden with different kinds of food of course and decorations everywhere. They'd made sure to clear a space for dancing and Perry the Platypus had volunteered to DJ with some equipment borrowed from the moogles for the night. Bolin wished there could be more people so they could have games and stuff like a proper street festival...but for what he had he felt it was pretty good.

Now they just needed people to show up for the fun.

"It's kind of sticky," Lea warned her. "We can go find some, though." Lea headed down the row of booths. The cotton candy wasn't just pink, it was blue too. He took a pink one and held it out to her. "You got this?"

Ammy followed him down the row of booths, and watched carefully as he took a sample of the cotton candy. Wow, they really did look like fluffy clouds! It almost didn't even look edible, more like something to rest on.

But it smelled sweet and looked different, so she sniffed at the offered treat and then took a big bite out of the pink fluff.

The first thing she noticed was that it was way sweet! This was the kind of sweetness that went straight up her nose. The second thing she noticed was that the instant it got wet in her mouth, the fluff seemed to change into crumbly and sticky, and stuck to the roof of her mouth. She tried to lick it off the top, only to get some on her tongue and gums, and then trying to lick that off, it got on her nose and fur. She ended up lapping continuously as the sticky-sugar-fluff that had gotten all over, like a dog given peanut butter.

Lea watched her for a moment, then hurried off to buy some water from one of the stands. "Here, this might help. Sorry, I didn't even think about it." Okay, he couldn't laugh. He really hadn't thought this through, and if he laughed, she might think it was a prank, which wouldn't be good at all.

Ammy continued attempting to lick all the sugar off of her mouth until Lea came back with some water. She then happily started lapping up all the water she could, which thankfully did wash out a lot of that leftover stickiness. By the time she was done, the sugar was pretty much gone, although her nose was also sopping wet.

Well, it was tasty...but probably not something to eat often. Not if she wanted to avoid making a mess, anyway. She gave him a sheepish look.

"Hey, don't feel bad. Humans have trouble eating it too. I'm just glad we got it before it got all over your fur." Matted cotton candy all over a white wolf would not have looked good. "Someone might've thought you were a new kind of spirit."

Leave it to humans to make something that was both tasty and difficult to eat! And she was pretty glad that it hadn't made too big of a mess, too.

Ammy gave him an odd look. Really? People would mistake her for that? But then again...if she'd tried both the pink and blue kinds, and gotten that splattered everywhere, it probably would look like Spirit colors.

"Have you hit up the games yet? I haven't gotten over there." Okay, so she couldn't respond in words, but Lea couldn't really help talking to her like she could.

Ammy shook her head no. She'd only just gotten here, and hadn't had the chance to look at the games yet. It was rather crowded, too.

Did he want to go see them?

"I'm waiting around for Bolin right now, but I'm gonna check 'em out later. You don't have to wait for me if you wanna go see," Lea added. "Not that I want you to go or anything, but there's a lot of people to meet here."

Oh yes, she had to say hi to Bolin, too. There were probably quite a few she should give a hello to.

On the other hand, games also sounded fun. And maybe some people she knew were around there. She gave him a small smile...maybe she would go see, since he'd suggested them.

Lea nodded; nonverbal communication worked, though you had to get used to wolf smiles for it. "Okay."
