Bolin, with the help of Spirits, Moogles, and various other people had finally finished setting up the party. There were tables laden with different kinds of food of course and decorations everywhere. They'd made sure to clear a space for dancing and Perry the Platypus had volunteered to DJ with some equipment borrowed from the moogles for the night. Bolin wished there could be more people so they could have games and stuff like a proper street festival...but for what he had he felt it was pretty good.

Now they just needed people to show up for the fun.

Wash was more than willing to just let Emi pass on by - no use starting something in public, after all. The Meow Wow bounding over, however, was a completely different matter. He knelt down to scratch Moxie behind the ears. "Hey, boy. How're you doing?"

Fang squeaked in recognition and greeting, and Melody briefly touched noses with Moxie before her person started petting him. If her person approved, then obviously he was okay.

Oh my, yes, pets. No Spirit could ever resist the pets. He was only planning to stay for a second but now... well, the Meow Wow sat his butt on the ground and wagged, purred a little too.

Emizel eventually noticed that something was missing, Moxie. He circled all around in a bit of a panic; the Meow Wow couldn't have gone that far, he was right there just a minute ago, what if he's causing trouble somewhere?

.... Oh, how did he get over there? Well, all the demon had to do was approach and retrieve him back.

Wash had never been much of a dog person, but Meow Wows were something else. His lips quirked into a tiny smile at Moxie's obvious enjoyment.

He looked up when Emi approached. Yeah, he'd figured it wouldn't take long for the kid to realize his Meow Wow had run off again. "Hey. I was wondering how long it'd take you to get here."

.... Wait, he knew that voice. Which meant.... oh god dammit.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Emizel might have unintentionally snapped more than he should, but given Wash's usual backhanded comments, defensive was kind of more of a thing.

"Nothing." Wash kept his tone calm. Usually he'd happily bait the kid, but this was a party. No use in ruining it for everybody else. "I just figured you'd be by to pick him up eventually." He gave Moxie one final pat, then turned him to face Emi. Go on, go that way.

Oh... that hadn't been the response he was expecting for. Emizel kept a glare just to make sure he wasn't planning anything else, although if that really was all.. never mind, he's just a little confused.

As told, Moxie, although lazily, finally got up to go back to Emizel. He nudged into the demon's leg after doing so, now it was Emizel's turn to give him some attention.

Wash just quirked an eyebrow at the kid. Seriously, he wasn't thorny all of the time - just most of it. "Having fun?"

Most of the time was more than enough to make an anxious kid weary though. Hard to believe Wash could be anything more than a pain when that's about all he had ever been before.

"Sort of.." Emizel leaned and gave Moxie some pats.
