Characters: Tails and whoever

Time of Day: Afternoonish?
Warnings: None

Enough time had been spent just getting to know his Hebby Repp, which he'd simply named Blaze, and now Tails felt a bit better about exploring the world he'd recently arrived in with the Spirit. Actually he'd need to thank Sora and Riku again for that information on Dream Eaters too.

The thought of being attacked by Nightmares had actually been kind of scary, but it was nothing like Chaos or the monsters that roamed at night while Dark Gaia had been awake, which was a good thing because he really didn't like monsters at all.

Deciding to give his tails a short break, the fox landed not far from the large fountain after setting Blaze down gently...not that the break was needed. He was glad that he had decided to come out. It was an amazing place after all and just wandering around made him a lot more comfortable here. Besides, he'd been hoping for a little bit of a change from the quiet of Central City.

But what to do next?

Taking a break by the fountain had become part of Xion's routine. There weren't many Nightmares in the area, and it was usually quiet. While she'd tried the roof near the bell tower in the Second District, sometimes she didn't want to fight Nightmares just to get to a good place to have a quiet moment. Not to mention that hanging around on high places brought up too many memories of friends who weren't here.

So the fountain it was, and she was there again today with Axel and Barkley. They liked the chance to play, and today the game seemed to be Tag. Axel was taking a turn as 'it' when all of them noticed a small shadow overhead. The spirits paused in their game and they looked up to see the newcomer--Tails?--flying using...his tails. Surprised, Xion watched him touch down and carefully set down his own Hebby Repp.

Curious about his method of flying, she was trying to think of how to ask about it when Axel took charge of the situation. Eager to see another of his own kind, he hurried over to greet the other Hebby Rep. Xion followed, Barkley staying close behind her.

The Spirits definitely seemed happy to meet each other. Axel wasted no time in squeaking the usual greetings, as well as encouraging Barkley to come over as well. The Meow Wow slowly moved out from behind Xion and over to the Hebby Repps. There wasn't going to be any fire, was there?

Still smiling at the Dream Eaters' antics, Xion turned to the new arrival. Fortunately he took care of breaking the ice. "Hello. Did you just get here?"

Hopefully he knew she meant 'here' to be 'Traverse Town,' not the fountain square.

Barkley perked up at the reassurance, whuffing his own hello to Blaze. He knew Axel usually only used fire in a fight, but sometimes it was good to check.

"Nice to meet you." 'Tails' seemed like a fitting name for him. "Not long; just a few weeks."

It was about as long as most of them had been there.

Blaze could join them, but he'd have to take over as 'it.'

Xion paused before answering. Where did she wanted to say she came from? Castle Oblivion was where she'd been created, and she'd spent most of the time since in The World that Never Was. Neither of those had the sense of "home" that she'd gotten from Sora's memories, though, and the very names would raise questions. Eventually she settled on her favorite world. "I'm from Twilight Town. You?"

And the game was on! Barkley and Axel both took off in different directions, but Barkley's stumpy legs put him at a clear disadvantage; he just couldn't move as fast as the Hebby Reps.

"It's always sunset. The clocktower is nice, and there's good ice cream." The other two worlds weren't nearly as nice despite, like Twilight Town, being caught between the realms of Light and Darkness. "What's Green Hill Zone like?"

It was an interesting name for a world.

Barkley appreciated that. He needed the exercise, yes, but being "it" all the time was no fun. Axel seemed to be enjoying his run, zigging and zagging to try to confuse Blaze.

"My friends and I liked it." Tails's description of his home piqued her interest. The only world she seen with a lot of green was Wonderland. Hills, aside from the sand dunes in Agrabah, hadn't been very common either. "Your home sounds nice."

Now it was Axel's turn. Look out Blaze, he's going to try to tag you back! Grateful for the chance to bow out and rest for a moment, Barkley flopped down near Xion's feet.

"Not really? The buildings are a different style, and it's always sunset."

"I think there's a beach, but mostly it's the town." Xion hadn't really had the chance to explore than a limited area of the worlds she'd seen. In that respect they all seemed small, though maybe they really were bigger and she just hadn't seem much of them.

That was a thought to muse on as she watched Axel catch up to Blaze and try to tag him.

It's all good, I've had that happen before.

Most of the worlds Xion had been to were very small, and easily explored. Maybe that was due to what she'd heard--that they were all once part of a whole. It was an interesting thought to consider. "It would be nice to see it again, but I don't think it's part of the Realm of sleep."

Axel took advantage of the chance to easily tag Blaze, then promptly tripped himself as he tried to turn a little too quickly.

Yep.

Axel gave an indignant squawk and began to try to flip Blaze off. Really, if he wanted a wrestling match, all he had to do was say so.

Xion joined in Tails's laughter. "I guess it can't."

That was a little sobering, but they were trying to find a way home.

The fountain seemed to be a popular spot for taking a rest. That it was shaped like a heart when see from the air or on a map hadn't escaped Sora's notice. What had escaped his notice that he was developing a habit of sitting at what would be the point at the bottom of the heart to take a rest.

Frankly, even if he did notice, he wouldn't care. One could see much of the plaza from that spot. As such, if anyone noticed him here, he was just chilling and watching his Spirits playing.

"Oh, hey." Sora was wondering when he was going to meet Tails in person. And now that he got a look at the fox, it seemed reasonable to assume that 'Tails' might be a nickname. He wouldn't pry if Tails didn't want to share his real name, though.

Jelly Bean and Bruce greeted Blaze happily. Dream Eaters sure were sociable. Come to think of it, the Nightmares never showed up alone either. That was part of what made them dangerous.

"Are you finding your way around okay?" When he said he'd be available to help, he meant it.

[personal profile] dork_of_keys 2012-11-23 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
"That's good. Don't be afraid to ask if you need something though." Sora was keeping an eye on his Spirits mostly because they tended to find trouble easy. As for fighting with each other, he'd never really seen a serious fight between them.

Sora made a face at the mention of the Post Office. Besides the risk of getting lost, he'd had a reminder recently that sometimes rather large numbers of Nightmares might gather there. Well, two reminders if one counted his hunt for the bits to make a bat. The more recent reminder, where an unnerving number of Kooma Pandas had appeared, was more what he was thinking of at the mention of the Post Office.

"If you do go in there, don't go alone. "

"You're welcome." Sora couldn't really fathom being mean without being provoked (outside of pranks once in a while). Being nice for the sake of being nice made a lot more sense to him.

"Kind of. Nightmares hang around there too. On top of that, some stronger ones have appeared and they started out there." He could sympathize with trouble finding him when he wasn't looking for it or even when he was actively avoiding it.

"Yeah, it is a problem. So far, almost everyone here can fight and we're taking care to look out for those who can't." For a given value of being able to fight, anyway. Church, for instance, was apparently a very bad shot.
