Thirteenth Link
Who: Namine and YOU
What: Namine takes some time to practice magic
Where: Traverse Town, Fourth District.
When: Sometime in what would be the afternoon
Warnings: None should be needed
Normally, Namine would have been one of the first to revisit Twilight Town when it opened again. She'd missed the chance to visit. Before she could, though, she'd seen the conversations on the communicators about possible new, more dangerous Nightmares. If that was the case, she should wait until others had verified the worlds were safe.
For right now, Traverse Town was safe enough and she hadn't been able to get out to practice her magic much. She knew she should practice her fire and lightning spells, since they were her weakest, but they were also her least favorite and the most difficult for her to cast. She decided to start with Blizzard. It was a good warm up.
Her new Iceguin Ace, Frosty, seemed to like it as well. When she froze a patch of ground, he dove and slid, Archimedes flapping in the air around him as if demanding why he was acting so undignified. It was so funny, Namine couldn't help laughing.

Archimedes, however, seemed eager to let the new arrivals know just what he thought of Spirits who didn't give any warning before they came charging in. Honestly, didn't their Person teach them any manners. Frosty rolled his eyes. Cool it, dude, they're friends.

"Hey. We're not intruding, are we?"
no subject
"No. I was practicing, but Frosty decided we needed a rest."
Nevermind that she hadn't been practicing for very long before the impromptu rest.

"That's cool. How's that been going?" He would certainly help her with that, if she wanted.

"Okay. I need to work on Fire and Thunder a little more, but I don't like those as much." While she wasn't one to avoid doing something just because she didn't like it, magic seemed tricky in that if she had an aversion to the spell it wouldn't work as well. Help would be welcome.

"Well, okay. How are you doing with other spells?" Maybe that was a better place to start.

Sora had picked the correct starting point. Namine smiled. "I'm best at Cure, and pretty good at Blizzard and Gravity."

Sora smiled at the response, "That's good. Say, if you ever want someone to practice with, just ask... er, come to think of it, I'm not really doing anything right now." Maybe he could figure out how to help with her issues with Fire and Thunder, whatever they were, if they practiced together a bit. Who knew?

Namine's expression brightened. "You don't mind? That would help." Even if they don't work through her issues, just having someone to practice with would be welcome.
/laaate... and short x_x
No worries
Before she could say anything more, Frosty gave her a nudge. Hey, Person? The ice was starting to melt. Mind freshening it up a bit? Namine sighed. "Okay, but just one more time." When Frosty nodded, she cast Blizzard again.

He watched as Namine cast Blizzard again. Using magic for recreation hadn't really occurred to him before, but it made a certain amount of sense looking at it now. That being said, he had used magic to light campfires on a few occasions, so it wasn't like uses outside of combat were foreign to him. He just hadn't thought of fun uses before. He chuckled a little at the Iceguin's antics, "I guess he's not quite ready to stop playing, is he?"
Bruce chattered at Frosty. Is sliding on ice really fun? Seems kinda cold.
Late tag is late, sorry.
Using magic for recreation hadn't occurred to Namine before, either. It had taken a happy accident plus a laid-back, fun-loving Spirit to clue her into the possibilities. Frostly happily began sliding again, chattering up at Bruce while he did so. Sliding was totally fun! A little cold, yeah, but worth it.
Namine smiled as she watched. "He seems to like to play, yes."
Also late
That was probably the best way to discover a new way to have fun. Neither of the Spirits Sora had with him was exactly built for sliding, but the Escarglow was willing to try. It was kind of pathetic, though. The cold was a little too much for the snail. That and sliding called for being able to build up some speed and, well, that was one thing snails just weren't known for. Bruce decided he was a little too round and would probably end up rolling instead.
"It seems like all the Spirits do." Which wasn't a bad thing. Play time could be good for you. Although Sora had no way of knowing how long they'd been practicing before break time had been called, even if said break time had provided a small practice opportunity too.

Frosty took a moment to take a step back and think. The Escarglow wasn't exactly built for sliding now--but what if he pulled into his shell? Then Frosty could push him around on the ice in his shell. How about that, dude?
Play time was necessary, and Namine's current guardian certainly made sure she wasn't working all of the day. Ienzo would be disappointed by how quickly she'd become distracted. However, he might have been mollified by the fact that she was, in a way, practicing as she played. Whatever the case, Namine nodded in agreement with Sora. "It seems like it's all they want to do unless they have to help us against Nightmares."
