Dreaming Wide Awake [Fourth Wall/Open]

Who: Everyone! Current characters, fourth wall characters, whoever wants to show up.
What: The portals are closed. Everyone's in Traverse Town, including a whole bunch of new people. This should be interesting.

You didn't expect to be here. You really didn't. The technicolor buildings are a surprise, as is the little white flying bear telling you you're in the dream world. He gives you a bag full of what looks to be currency, enough shiny things to create a creature of your own (or so he says), and sends you on your way.

"Ah, well. We rather wrote our way out, eventually. Or near enough to, under the circumstances."

But the details aren't too terribly important compared to the fact that they did get out eventually. Its just not the sort of answer that is really going to work to get them out of a realm of dreams instead. After all, there's no writing oneself out of the predicament here.

Benton nods. Something tells him that's not going to be possible here.

"Think the circumstances are a little different here, Doctor. I don't suppose we can dream anything up that would help us?"

Very much not going to be possible, no. As much as it might be nice if it had been. But that is another matter just at the moment.

"Well, we can certainly try. But I'm not certain if it would help in the long run. A dream TARDIS isn't going to do much good in the real universe."

"Fair point." Back to the drawing board with that one, Benton supposes.

"Anything else I should be aware of?"

"Oh, just the local variety of enemies. But they aren't really anything to be concerned about. Not like some of the ones we've run into before."

And for all that he hasn't really tried lately and wouldn't have been inclined much anyway, he has a suspicion that bullets will work on these enemies.

"That's a relief. I think might have seen some of them earlier. The little guys are supposed to help us right. That's what the floating bear said."

"They are, yes. And they do it fairly well."

Better than he'd ever be at fighting monsters, at any rate. Not that he'd have too much of a problem with it, if he absolutely had to, but it's much nicer to not need to, and Harry does a good enough job of things, besides.

Benton nods, looking down at Trap One who has flopped by his feet.

"Well, looks like I'll be counting on you then, mate." The Meow wow gives a tired wuff.

"For a little while, at least."

Until they wake up, most likely. And if Benton wants to help out his new ally, well, it's not like he's about to complain. It's not his Dream Eater and thus it's unlikely to be his fight. Unless it is, in which case most of the fighting on his end is probably going to be left to Harry.
