What: The portals are closed. Everyone's in Traverse Town, including a whole bunch of new people. This should be interesting.

You didn't expect to be here. You really didn't. The technicolor buildings are a surprise, as is the little white flying bear telling you you're in the dream world. He gives you a bag full of what looks to be currency, enough shiny things to create a creature of your own (or so he says), and sends you on your way.

"Oh, well the rest of the year we just look for any old excuse," Cecil says, gesturing. "It's a good community building activity. Brings everyone together, whether they want it or not, and also it allows the Sheriff's Secret Police to mark those of sub-optimal mental fortitude for more focused surveillance."

He smiles, broadly. "For the good of the community, of course."

It sounds like a very odd thing to him, and more than a little dystopian besides, but he doesn't really like to judge on the strength of a few words alone and so he'll see where his questions get him before he decides one way or the other.

"And what happens to someone who is 'sup-optimal'? I'm almost certain there's more to it than simple surveillance."
