What: The portals are closed. Everyone's in Traverse Town, including a whole bunch of new people. This should be interesting.

You didn't expect to be here. You really didn't. The technicolor buildings are a surprise, as is the little white flying bear telling you you're in the dream world. He gives you a bag full of what looks to be currency, enough shiny things to create a creature of your own (or so he says), and sends you on your way.

"Ah, but he's a mastermind who uses magic! Or how else would he have brought us all here?"

Souji smiled wryly at the other man. "We're all here in a dream, after all. It sounds like some sort of magic to me."

"Uh... Science, mad science, crazy super advanced science... literally any other way than magic."

"And we're all from different worlds," Souji reminded him. "Maybe there's a machine that could fly from world to world! Or one that could make you think you're seeing a dream... but to put us all in the same dream?

"No, I think it's magic. Unless there's science in your world that can do a thing like that!"

"uh... um... what about slipspace?"

"Slipspace?" Souji echoed, blankly. "What's that?"

"Well, it's this weird... uh, place? Thing? Quantum bullshit? Whatever, doesn't matter... the point is it messes with time and space and makes long distance space travel possible."

"You hear all kinds of crazy stories about it. Honestly I don't know if anyone actually knows how it works, just that it does."

Well, that sounded... possible. Souji sighed, tucking his hair behind his ear, and smiled wryly up at the armored man.

"I really don't know! Could it have taken us all alone, from our own homes? I've never heard of any of these things before."
