Dreaming Wide Awake [Fourth Wall/Open]
Who: Everyone! Current characters, fourth wall characters, whoever wants to show up.
What: The portals are closed. Everyone's in Traverse Town, including a whole bunch of new people. This should be interesting.
Where: Traverse Town
When: Throughout the day
Warnings: Depends on the characters. Expect language at least.
You didn't expect to be here. You really didn't. The technicolor buildings are a surprise, as is the little white flying bear telling you you're in the dream world. He gives you a bag full of what looks to be currency, enough shiny things to create a creature of your own (or so he says), and sends you on your way.
Good luck.

"Thank you kindly," he said, reflexively, and re-settled his hat on his head. "Now, I don't want to take up any more of your time, ma'am, but if there's anything I can do for you...."

Speaking of, she may as well ask him if he had any Spirits yet. With things being weird as they were, Ammy got the feeling they'd probably be important to anyone new. For that, she pulled out one of the pieces of paper she always kept with her, set in on the ground and began to paint. As she was using the celestial ink in her tail, it would appear to anyone else that the ink was drawing itself onto the page.
Once finished, she held up the page to him:

"I don't have either of those creatures with me," he answered, reaching out to take the photo. A cat? Or was that a dog-- and a bat of some kind....

To demonstrate, she also pulled out some spare dream pieces that she'd collected from fighting Nightmares, and tapped at them. You made a Spirit out of these.

He held the painting out to her again, turning it to show the blank back. "I'm sorry, but can you write?" She seemed to understand English, and without knowing her as well as he knew Dief, charades was a painfully slow way to communicate.

Ammy looked a little worried. While she could understand what people said, writing it was another matter entirely. She'd learned enough of the English alphabet to be able to (messily) write her name in it, but not enough to construct proper sentences. Maybe she should spend some time trying to learn more of it...
But for now, maybe she could get lucky and he'd know her native language in Nippon. She concentrated on the page, and painted again. This time, she wrote 'You put the pieces together' in Japanese. Whether he could read that was another matter.

"Fragments," he muttered to himself, tapping the first one, and then, "join... so I have to put something together to get one of those creatures?"
Perhaps it was a sort of test, solving a puzzle, or building a key of some kind. His squint deepened into a frown as he turned over the possibilities.

She barked back in affirmation. Yes, he had to put the different pieces together to get a Spirit!
