Dreaming Wide Awake [Fourth Wall/Open]

Who: Everyone! Current characters, fourth wall characters, whoever wants to show up.
What: The portals are closed. Everyone's in Traverse Town, including a whole bunch of new people. This should be interesting.
Where: Traverse Town
When: Throughout the day
Warnings: Depends on the characters. Expect language at least.

You didn't expect to be here. You really didn't. The technicolor buildings are a surprise, as is the little white flying bear telling you you're in the dream world. He gives you a bag full of what looks to be currency, enough shiny things to create a creature of your own (or so he says), and sends you on your way.

Good luck.

"Perhaps the fairies grew weary of waiting," Madeline suggests vaguely. She's a thin, blonde woman who's looking around the new world in wonder. A Meow Wow bounces around her happily. "Down, Bertie," she chides it. It's the first name to come to her mind when looking into those soulful, loving, yet somehow-vacant eyes. And so it's not the name of her little blue dog. Madeline likes his colors very much.

Cecil nods, knowingly. "Immortal beings can be so impatient," he says. "You'd think they wouldn't be, what with how much downtime there is in eternity, but there you have it."

Madeline shakes her head. "Oh, but think of all the new fairies there are, born every time a baby blows its wee little nose. They haven't got to experience any sort of eternity yet. They must be just like us, wanting the morning dew and sunlight to come so very much sooner than it will. What darkness they've got to wait through. And when you're just new to the world, you haven't even any idea there's anything apart what you've seen. Just a promise from the flowers and a whisper from the wind."

It really must be so hard for the poor little dears. Her heart begins to break just thinking on it, and Madeline pulls a handkerchief from her purse to dab at her eyes. "If we've made them happy by coming sooner, is it really so bad?"
