Dreaming Wide Awake [Fourth Wall/Open]

Who: Everyone! Current characters, fourth wall characters, whoever wants to show up.
What: The portals are closed. Everyone's in Traverse Town, including a whole bunch of new people. This should be interesting.
Where: Traverse Town
When: Throughout the day
Warnings: Depends on the characters. Expect language at least.

You didn't expect to be here. You really didn't. The technicolor buildings are a surprise, as is the little white flying bear telling you you're in the dream world. He gives you a bag full of what looks to be currency, enough shiny things to create a creature of your own (or so he says), and sends you on your way.

Good luck.

Ah, currency. Inclining his head, Death carefully prises his own bag open to look over the contents a second time. Yes, he was thrown off by the lack of pennies when he first received it, but everything seems to be in order now. What a helpful young man. (Most men are young men from Death's point of view.)

He looks up again. WHAT EXACTLY WOULD YOU BE REPLACING? he asks, purely curious.

"Oh, just my usual travel bloodstone circle. Usually these things are scheduled ahead of time so people can make sure they fall asleep within reaching distance of all dream-prison necessities, so as to bring them into their mental realm with them. Normally I keep my dream-prison preparedness kit nearby, in case of emergency, but I must have fallen asleep suddenly and in an unusual place."

Which isn't unheard of, really, but it sure is inconvenient. Cecil really hopes this isn't one of those dreams where eating or drinking the food will entrap you forever in the confines of your own mind. He'd feel awfully silly becoming one of the endless dreamers when he just stocked up on rations the other day, only to forget to fall asleep near enough to them for them to be of any use.

PEOPLE OFTEN DO, Death says gravely. He should know.

After a moment, he starts to rifle through the bag. It's difficult to faze a being who strictly speaking has seen the end of universes by definition, and in any case he doesn't have the glands for it, but he must admit he's starting to feel a little concerned. He's not overly familiar with dream worlds, seeing as the most he usually has to do is wait outside them for a few days at worst. Insofar as he's capable of imagining anything, he'd imagined this would be a standard call-out. And yet, he finds himself here.

Bureaucracy.

IT SEEMS I HAVE NO BLOODSTONES TO REPLACE YOU WITH, he announces presently. WOULD YOU LIKE A COLOURFUL FRAGMENT INSTEAD?
