What: The portals are closed. Everyone's in Traverse Town, including a whole bunch of new people. This should be interesting.

You didn't expect to be here. You really didn't. The technicolor buildings are a surprise, as is the little white flying bear telling you you're in the dream world. He gives you a bag full of what looks to be currency, enough shiny things to create a creature of your own (or so he says), and sends you on your way.

... and he thought he'd seen everything with the ponies. But... giant mouse. Giant mouse in a pink dress.
Kanji was finding it hard not to pile on her with an undignified noise.

Awkwardly, then, he came up to her, a spot of red in his face: "You, uh, doin' okay there?"

She would be very appreciative if you did not pile on her, good sir.

Anyway, she notices him, and greets him with a polite smile. "Thank you, dear. I'm all right for the most part... I'm just very, very confused."

"Y-yeah, I don't blame ya," he replies, shoving his hands in his pockets and trying to look calm and collected. "I mean, it sounds pretty crazy, huh? The whole 'bein' in a dream world' thing..."

"A dream world." She repeated, cupping her chin in momentary thought. "I've heard of that before... I suppose it was too early to think I was out of danger yet. This is very disappointing." She sighed, shaking her head, mostly talking to herself.

"You're in danger?!" That's not good. Looking rather alarmed, now, he goes on - "You're gonna be okay around here, though. Yeah, we've got the Nightmares... but if any of 'em come anywhere near ya, I'll smack 'em into next week, alright?"

She blinked at his reaction, but then smiled. What a good soul, if not a little loud. He rather reminded her of Donald. "Why, thank you. And who might my hero be?"

"Your - oh! Uh. I ain't a hero," he said, laughing a spot awkwardly for a moment. He would've done it for anyone! Well. Most people. (Cute or not.) "But my name's Kanji. And you...?"

She tugged on her dress, curtsying and bowing her head. "I am Queen Minnie Mouse. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Mister Kanji. And as far as I can see, anyone who is willing to fight darkness for a complete stranger is a hero no matter what."

Queen. Well... it's not the first time he's met royalty around here, that's for sure. Still, seeing her reaction - "Wait! Y-ya don't have to do any'f that for me..." he spluttered, slightly panicky.

She easily ignored his sputtering and muttering, continuing on. "I don't suppose there's any way for us to leave? I did have business waiting for me back at the castle, and people who need me."

"Uh. There kinda ... isn't," he managed to get out, looking aside. He really didn't want to be the bearer of bad news here! "I mean, people wake up all the time. But there ain't a way to do it 'cause you want to do it."

"My, that's frustrating." She pouted, with a hand to her cheek. "I hope they'll be fine without me... Oh, I'll worry all the same."

"Don't blame ya," he agreed. "I mean, I know that I'm probably just asleep back home, no big deal, but I still kinda worry about - what if I don't wake up? What's my ma gonna think?"

She raised her eyebrows, but then shook her head. "There's a difference between worrying and giving up... and you mustn't give up! Every problem has a solution and we'll find one, and you will see your mother again."

She offered a friendly hand to his... hip, as, well, she was a very tiny thing. "I promise."
