What: The portals are closed. Everyone's in Traverse Town, including a whole bunch of new people. This should be interesting.

You didn't expect to be here. You really didn't. The technicolor buildings are a surprise, as is the little white flying bear telling you you're in the dream world. He gives you a bag full of what looks to be currency, enough shiny things to create a creature of your own (or so he says), and sends you on your way.

"Eh, I got nothing to complain about. It's all a dream, right? It's like a vacation from real life."

He reaches out to wiggle a finger at the Owl, then glances down a his own spirit. "Never had a pet. Little guys seems pretty O.K, though."

Well, that's...definitely a different take. He wasn't another dead man, was he?

"They're intelligent, though some are certainly smarter than others." Her owl, for example, watched them both, occasionally blinking in a googly eyed fashion. "I take it the moogles explained the situation to you?"

Nope, still quite alive and functioning in his own world.

"They did. Bit of a shocker, but doesn't sound like anything I can't handle." He holds his hand out in greeting. "The name's Jun."

There's a pause before the hand is accepted, Lin nodding. She's gotten more used to that form of social interaction since arriving here, and occasionally gave her some insight into whether the other happened to be truthful.

"Lin Beifong. The spikey one is Tanzanite. The owl's Azurite."

"Precious stones? I like it. I just got Carter here." He makes a motion to the Meow Wow at his feet, which whuffles happily in response.

"You been here long, Lin?"

There was a faint smirk at the compliment to her naming choices. The pricklemane just looked even more pleased to be there.

"About four, five months now. A few people from my world have arrived and departed since then. As yet, I haven't seen anyone else." Which was both good, and bad, given the unsettling news Korra had told her. "I don't suppose you've seen anyone or anything here that you know?"

"I have, actually. Noble Four; we used to be on a fireteam together. You familiar with him?"

Jun's curious how Emile has been getting on with non-Spartans without someone to wrangle him in.

That earned an arched eyebrow. "Yes, we've met. Big fellow. Seems friendly with some of our Freelancers. He's been staying with one of the ponies, I believe." Lin would argue that Emile has been quite handily wrangled by Rarity, but she'll leave that story to the mare and the man in question.

Jun laughs outright. "I don't know if I'll ever get used to 'friendly' an 'Noble Four' being used in the same context."

It's a master feat if you ask him that anyone who's not Carter has managed it, let a lone a dainty little pony.

"Guess it depends on the definition of friendly," admitted Lin, though Jun's amusement helped her relax a little. "He certainly settled more quickly than the other one who showed up for a short time. Two, I think the number was."

Rarity was quite the force of personality to be reckoned with, really.

"Kat, yeah. They told me she'd made an appearance. Wish she would have stuck around." He reaches up to scratch at his chin. He missed his former team. "So how long do people tend to hang out?"

You and Emile are probably the only ones who wished that, Jun. Lin didn't have a thought on the matter either way. "It does seem like some arrivals only stay a week, maybe two, before waking. Anything longer than that, and you tend towards the long haul. A couple of dreamers have woken up and come back, but they're few and far between."

Then she frowned. "So far, we've only had one case of someone returning who didn't remember being here previously."
