Well. This certainly wasn’t what you were expecting.

This part of the town is lit with street lamps and shop signs, illuminating the wooden structures and cobblestone streets. If it weren’t for the neon signs, you’d swear you’d landed in a small European town several centuries back.

The Moogle floating near the staircase leading up to the town’s item shop doesn’t help that illusion either. You may have already spoken with it; it’ll tell you where you are and that you’re in the realm of dreams, give you your starter package, and help you make your first Dream Eater. It will not, however, tell you how to get home. Sorry, but that’s not information it has, kupo.

Now that you’ve taken care of that, what will you do next? That is up to you.

"Yeah. A few months at least." He couldn't blame her if she was puzzled by that. As far as he knew, she had merged with Kairi, so it was questionable how she could even be here. He really didn't want to try to wrap his brain around it at the moment. Really, he was just glad to have a familiar face around.

How was that even possible? Oh, well, Namine wasn't the type to question Sora's word. If he said it had been a few months, then it had.

"I guess since everyone here is dreaming, they could fall into this world at any time."

She paused for a moment. "And...The Organization?"

It was something that would have to be asked eventually.

It wasn't really something Sora would lie about. Even if it was, he's terrible at lying and he knows it.

He probably shouldn't have been surprised when she asked about the Organization. The answer was anything but simple, "It's a long story..."

Sora wasn't really the type to lie. He might avoid a subject if he didn't want to talk about, but he was also pretty obvious about doing that.

Which might be the case now, and if so she wouldn't press him. Still, she'd asked, so she could at least offer to listen. She sat down beside him. "I think we have some time."

He though over it for a moment. So much had happened, where would he even start? The obvious was his waking in Twilight Town. Maybe the obvious was the best in this case. And maybe he could put it in a nutshell.

"Well," he said thoughtfully, "Donald and Goofy and I woke up in that mansion. We met up with the King while we were looking around town and he sent us to Master Yen Sid. From there, we ended up looking for Riku and fighting with the Organization. Over a lot of worlds..." Which was putting it mildly.

His Meow Wow, in the pause in the story, jumped into his lap and made itself comfortable.

"Wise guy. Anyway, we did eventually find our way to the Organization's stronghold. And beat them. Somehow." Or so they thought. He sighed, "If only they'd stayed beat."

Namine knew all about his waking in Twilight Town, so he hadn't needed to mention it, but it made a good start to the story. While she hadn't known he was also looking for Riku, she should have guessed. Not that it would have helped much--even if she'd told Riku, he'd been determined to not tell Sora what had happened.

The Meow Wow actually provided a moment of much needed laughter by jumping up in Sora's laugh. Hearing that the Organization had been defeated was good, but..."If only?"

Sora sighed. That was the part that really complicated things. He kept up the conversation while giving the Meow Wow the attention it obviously wanted, "Well, when a Heartless and it's matching Nobody are destroyed, the original person can be restored. That's not such a bad thing, since most of them seem to want to make up for what they've done. But some of them are unaccounted for."

"I see." That would be worrying. "But they've all regained their hearts? Everyone from the Organization?"

Namine had known that for Sora and Kairi to be whole again, their Nobodies, Roxas and her, would have to merge with them again. Everyone had always said that was a unique case, though, and she hadn't even thought of a way other than Kingdom Hearts was possible for the others.

"As far as I know."

Sora still didn't think that was fair. He'd finally had a chance recently to tell Roxas how he felt about that, but it had been short lived and he didn't know if he'd be able to talk to him again. That was all beside the point, slightly.

"That's good."

If the others had regained their hearts and decided to do what they could to repair the damage they'd done, she was happy for them. As far as her and Roxas went...maybe it wasn't fair, but that was the way it was. There wasn't anything they could do to change it.

Sora was of the opinion that there probably was something that could be done to change that. It just hadn't been found yet.

"There's still a lot to be done, though."

There might be, and if he wants to find it, Namine will help him. Accepting things the way they were at the moment didn't mean she was against attempts to improve the situation.

"More adventures?"

He intended to find it, though he didn't expect it to be easy. It never was, that was why any help was welcome.

"Most likely. That's not necessarily a bad thing, though."

Then she would do whatever she could. It might not amount to a lot, but every little bit helped, right?

"No, it's not." She smiled.

Of course. Sora wasn't the type to turn down offered help... unless the offerer was putting themselves in danger unnecessarily, but he still appreciated the sentiment.

"It's always a chance to make new friends."

"Maybe we'll make some new friends, here, too."

This was kind of an adventure, after all. Namine had never been on her own quite like this before. It was scary, but exciting, too.

"Huh, that's true." That thought brought a wide smile to his face. He was always willing to meet new people.

There was never anything to be afraid of when there friends around. Also, who else to have along on an adventure besides your friends?

Namine smiled back. Having never been on an adventure, this was all new to her, so it was a little scary. At least she had some friends here to help. It might take a while to get used to meeting so many new people, but making new friends could be nice, too.

"I hope everyone back home is okay."

"I'm sure they're fine. Maybe wondering where we are, but I guess there's not much we can do about that and worrying over it won't help either."

New things could be good, especially making new friends. Sora had never been shy so he couldn't really wrapped his head around being reluctant to meet new people. Still, it didn't stop him from being willing to help Namine out with that, if he could.

Namine nodded. Riku and Axel could take care of themselves, and she knew they'd do their best on their own. "I guess if we don't want them to worry, we should try to find the way back as soon as we can."

Not being used to new things, especially so many ones at once, she needed some time to adjust. Any help Sora offered would be welcome. He seemed to be an expert at the whole 'making new friends' thing.

"There you go. Everything will be fine."

Yes, somehow he was an expert at making new friends, yet he hadn't the foggiest idea exactly how he did it.

At that reassurance, she managed a small smile. "Just give it some time, right?"

He did it because he was Sora; it just came naturally.

Can this really go anywhere else?

Smiling was a good sign. "Right."

If he had to give any advice about making friends, it would probably have been to be yourself. Beyond that... well, he was usually flying by the seat of his pants anyway.
