A lightning storm crackles over the orchard, lighting the sky with electricity for minutes on end. Only when it fades does a rainbow arch across the sky. As if by magic - and it may well be - the gray apples on the trees suddenly grow to three times their size and gain rainbow stripes. It looks like the zapapples are ripe and ready for picking. There's buckets and barrels in the barn - best get started before the sun goes down and they disappear.

As for that howling in the distance...well, surely it's nothing.

Kanji's about to start climbing to his feet, grimacing - but then the first spell goes off, and he's suddenly certain that he's best remaining lying right where he is for a moment.

Damn. Just damn. Even Yukiko, on her best days, hadn't been able to drop a flame attack like that. He's not sure whether to be more scared or impressed! Not going to show the scared bit, though, bar staring briefly - gritting his teeth, he starts to stand up again.

"I... think you got 'em," he says. Understatement of the year.

When the smoke and fire and ash and other signs of destruction have cleared, two bright lights shine, drifting apart from one another. One settles around Kanji's neck; the other, atop Aqua's head. They dim and fade, leaving gold in their wake. Kanji now has a gold choker around his neck, its center set with a red jewel in the skull and crossbones of his cutie mark; Aqua has obtained a tiara with a purple-pink jewel in the shape of her Wayfinder cutie mark set atop it. The Elements of Loyalty and Magic have reappeared.

Aqua is still glowing a little, when the Elements appear. It's not much, but it has the uncanny effect of making it look like she's still a little bit on fire. She isn't, and doesn't seem to be really bothered by it, but it's probably a little odd to anyone who isn't so used to it as she is.

On the other hand, it might not be so odd after the sudden appearance of two pieces of jewelry.

"What the hell?"

Okay, this has Kanji surprised. He stumbles backwards slightly as he lifts a hoof to poke at his new ornament. He can't see it clearly, sure, but he can see Aqua's just fine... alright, it's pretty, but what've these got to do with anything?

There's a moment of silence as Aqua blinks at the additional weight on her head - and just when she'd gotten used to the added weight of a horn! - but she thinks she can offer some light on what they are. Especially after having spoken with Celestia about them and well... what they looked like besides.

"I think they're two of the Elements of Harmony."

"Wait, what?"

Kanji looks more than a little baffled. He'd heard the name being thrown about, hard not to given everything that'd been happening, but...

"What're they doin' here?"

"We were supposed to be looking for them," Aqua answers. "They'd gone missing and I don't think they'd been supposed to."

That they've shown up here and now is a little surprising, but there's no changing it. Not now that the decision has been made.

"They must have found us worthy, I think."

"Huh? Me?" Still trying to tap at the thing- "Yeah, I get why you got one, that was awesome! But I ..." He looks down. "I just didn't wanna see you gettin' caught."

"Sometimes that can be just as important," Aqua answered with a gentle smile. Even something so small as wanting to keep someone safe can mean a lot and if the Element thinks Kanji is the right person for it she isn't going to try to argue with them.

He's quiet for a moment. "You think so? Heh." He's not entirely sure, but ... he guesses he'll take it.

"I do."

And if Kanji himself isn't entirely sure, that's alright. The most important thing is really that they've found two more of the Elements.
