Alone in the Darkness

Who: Roxas, Emizel, and whoever dares enter Twilight Town
What: Experimenting with nightmares. For Science.
Where: Twilight Town
When: Sometime after the dreams start
Warnings: Copious amount of nightmares, Roxas's Hayner-worthy idea, and potential yelling.

It seemed like a good idea at the time.

At least, that's Roxas's rational. Emizel had been worried that if they defeated all the nightmares, he'd be in trouble, so what better way to test if there was a connection than if they could get a lot of nightmares.

The plan was simple. Get treats, and then get the nightmares to follow them to a location, see if Emizel felt more energetic, and then fight off the nightmares before it got out of hand.

Roxas supposed he underestimated how many nightmares they could summon with a few treats, but they could manage, right? It's not like there were any big ones or anything.

They'd be fine.

"Yeah. It was something, of a home."

He called it home once, when he didn't know any better. He stays because it's familiar, but he's not really sure if he can call it home.

"'Was'? You mean you're from here? The, uh, awake here? Huh. Cool." Kanji smiles, but - would he like it if Inaba were to turn up in the dreamworlds? Hard question.

"Sorta. It's kinda hard to explain, but yeah. I know Twilight Town pretty well. There's not a whole lot to see but it helps to know where some stuff is. Like the train station and the sandlot. The streets can get confusing."

To say nothing of the tunnels running beneath the town. It does hurt a little to talk about it, but there's a hint of pride in Roxas's voice. He does love this place.

He totally understands that feeling, sheltered type (as far as he can be) that he is himself. No place like home...

"So that is a train station? Huh. I guess they ain't goin' anywhere right now..."

"No, they're just kinda there. I don't think the track goes anywhere either."

He'd had the thought of following the tracks to the beach, but then, he also wasn't sure if the beach even existed.

"That's kinda a shame." The question briefly crosses his mind - how big are the dream worlds anyway? "What else is there around here to see?"

Roxas nods.

"Uh, there's the sandlot, and the clocktower. The tunnels aren't that exciting, it's just easy to get lost. That's about it, mostly."

"Huh... okay. Shouldn't be that hard to get around." He nods back.

"Not really, once you learn the streets and stuff. Almost everything leads to the tram common, so once you're there it's easy."

Roxas gestures, trying to show that it's like spokes on a wheel, sort of.

"ALright. I get ya," he says. "So if I headed that way," pointing, "I'd get there? If everything goes that way?"

"Yeah, pretty much. I can show you, if you want. I think I got rid of most of the nightmares."

"Sounds like a plan."

[seasaltkeys]

"Then follow me!" And Roxas headed off towards the sandlot. There was a bit of time before he could meet Emizel, and the distraction would be nice.

"Comin'!" Kanji followed, happy, now: no more Nightmares, no more problem. And honestly, this place looked pretty nice!
