Characters:Sora, Roxas and Xion
Content: Cooking Lessons
Location: The kitchen at the Dalmatians' House
Time of Day: Lunch time-ish, the day before the pony magic lessons
Warnings: Fluff and adorable?
Sora didn't see any reason why cooking lessons would be a bad thing. It was good to be able to cook for yourself and for someone else if you chose. Generally, it was kind of awesome to be able to make tasty food, even if it was actually pretty easy once learned. So he was kind of looking forward to this, because it was nice to be able to help someone else learn too.
But lessons were no fun if you started with something too complicated. Soup was nice and easy and it could also be nice and filling, depending on what kind of soup it was. So Sora had picked up the things to make a nice vegetable soup.
When they got there, Roxas and Xion would find him making sure that all the kitchen items they needed were clean and set out on the counter. He was also singing softly. Something about life in the sea being better.
Sora had learned his lesson from the baking lessons with Namine. Toxy and the still unnamed Escarglow were hanging around the door to the kitchen. These two were his mellowest and so far also his most obedient Spirits, so when he'd asked them to stay out of the kitchen they hadn't objected, though they were still curious as to what their person was up to.

Learning sounded like it might be fun, though. Well, learning with her best friend and having her Original teach her sounded like it might be fun. So when Sora had offered, she'd accepted.
Most of Xion's Spirits were fairly well behaved. Today she'd let Barkley and Speedy team up. They hadn't gotten to work together much, and they were some of the more easygoing of her Spirits.
After a short stop to say hello to Sora's Escarglow (Speedy was so happy to see another of her kind) and Toxy, Xion smiled at him. "Hi, Sora. Thanks for having me over."

In between the nightmares and the not sleeping, Roxas hadn't really paid much attention to what was going around him. It also probably didn't help that he had just woken up from a nap and was wandering into the kitchen for...well, reasons he hadn't decided on yet.
"Xion? What's going on?" he said, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
[ooc: For future reference, I'd appreciate a head's up when logs like these are going up. This just kinda caught me off guard.]

It hadn't occurred to Sora to check with the others and remind them. He had put it off quite a while after the idea came up and he should have considered the possibility that it could have slipped someone's mind. So he was a little puzzled at first when Roxas walked in looking like he just woke up. He realized his mistake when Roxas spoke up.
"Oh... I'm sorry. You still wanted to learn to cook, right?"

It looked like all that had been going on had driven any thought of the lesson from Roxas's mind. Xion herself probably should have reminded him; it wasn't as if they didn't see each other often. At least Roxas was at home.
"I'm sorry, too."

"What...no, it's fine. I just, didn't know that was today," Roxas replied. "We hadn't talked about it for a while, so I didn't think it was happening."
He shook his head, trying to wake up.

“Well, we can start whenever you're ready. And there's really no rush.”
And for future reference, Sora knew he would do well to check in with people when he made plans that got delayed for a while...

Xion nodded her agreement with Sora. "Yeah, whenever you're ready."

Might as well go along. Sora had set everything up already, and Roxas guessed it could be fun.
/late
Cooking could be fun, especially when people got together and helped each other with it.
*hugs* NP
Barkley came over to investigate, too. With a slight whuff, he got up on his hind legs and put his front paws against the counter, trying to see over. Xion tapped him lightly on the nose. "No, this isn't for you. Down."
Whining slightly and looking disappointed, Barkley did as he was told and backed off. At least if he was good now, he might get treats later.

"What do you do first?" He asked, looking at some the vegetables.

That said, the vegetables didn't look that dirty. "They don't clean them at the store?"
Of course it was only after she'd asked that she remembered a long-ago lecture on germs...Oh, well.

"Are we all going to fit around the sink?" He'd help out where he could but he didn't want to crowd anyone.
no subject
"No, we're not all going to fit," Sora agreed, "But two will. Here. Practice is a good thing."
In the meanwhile, over by the door, Toxy was peeking in to see if anything of interest was going on. He wasn't sure exactly why he and the Escarglow had been asked to stay out, but he wasn't going to argue. They were small to get underfoot without being noticed, so maybe that was why? The Escarglow, meanwhile, was... napping.

It wasn't a bad idea. Especially if there were pesticides--Xion wouldn't have liked the idea of those if she'd heard about them.
Not that she would have had much time for thinking about that if Sora had mentioned them. If Roxas was going to stand at the sink, she'd have to move. "We can take turns."

"Do we really need to practice though?" he asked. Chopping vegetables seemed a skill worth practicing.
