Stitch By Stitch [Open]
Who: Rarity and you!
What: Rarity is hard at work in her boutique. Please, come bother her - she loves bringing in new customers.
Where: The Carousel Boutique, Fourth District, Traverse Town
When: Afternoon
Warnings: None so far. Rarity will not be pleased with anypony who does anything that requires this thread to have a warning.
She'd heard quite a bit about what had happened aboard the newest world - the Mother of Invention, she'd heard it called. After hearing there was an invisible something attacking people out of the blue, and after Emile came home horribly injured, Rarity had simply sworn off going there. She would go if somepony needed her, of course - that was what friends were for, after all - but she'd keep the tourism to a minimum.
So she'd said hello to Steven and picked up a variety of fabrics and a few new accents that she didn't normally use but couldn't wait to test out, and she got to work. It wouldn't do to stay idle, after all - not when she still needed practice designing for people.

"Well, you've certainly come to the right place," Rarity replied with a smile. "And you've got quite the eye for fabric - with your coloring, it will be beautiful." She magicked over a few pieces of paper and several colored pencils, sketching while they talked. "Now, do want a full ball gown, or something a bit more casual?"
no subject
"Oh...Thank you?" Ziva watched for a second, then snickered at the question. Realizing that could have come across as offensive, she clarified. "Sorry. Thinking of how my boyfriend would react seeing me in a ball gown." It was a funny thought, really. "More casual would be best."
no subject
"You're very welcome." Rarity kept a carefully guarded expression at the snickering - if her experiences with Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie had taught her anything, it was that an explanation was usually forthcoming. She was right; her expression became a smile, and then a slightly wickedly knowing grin. "Oh-h-h-h, you need that sort of dress. Well! I can certainly help you out there. Now, do you want him to faint completely, or simply find you utterly irresistible?"

She watched as Fluffy flew over to hover behind Rarity for a second, looking at the sketches before whistling. Shaking her head, she sighed. "I still need to figure out who taught you that." the 'so I can smack him' was left unsaid.

Her eyes snapped open wide at the wolf whistle, and she rounded on Fluffy, suddenly furious. "Now you listen here! That is rude and insulting and incredibly demeaning, and that is not how you treat a lady! Don't you dare ever do that again! Now apologize!" Rarity would not be putting up with that sort of attitude, especially not in her own home.

She glanced back at the bat floating behind her. "You should listen to her and apologize." He borrowed her hair as a shield, making some sort of noise that could be an apology. She just shook her head. "I apologize for him. He learned that whistle and loves to use it now."

Spike sat down next to Ducky. Yep, his person sure could be scary when she was mad.

Ziva took the dress from where it was...floating...in front of her. Maybe, in a few years, she would get used to magic. Until then, she'd still raise an eyebrow at it. "Out of the hair. Go sit with Ducky and the other spirit." Fluffy obeyed, going to sit next to his friend and look like a slightly dejected five year old.
Walking behind the screen, she changed into the dress, slinging her belt and holster onto the corner of the screen for safe keeping. Partially so she could see it, partially so it was out of the reach of any nosy spirits. Walking back out, she scratched at her head. "It is a bit big."
no subject
"Well yes, but it's a start. Arms out, please." Rarity waited for Ziva to comply before magicking her pincushion over and carefully pinning the dress to fit Ziva. "Alright," she said as she finished, "dress off, please - carefully.."
no subject
Ziva did as she was told, watching the pony as she worked, impressed at how she did her work. When she was done with the pins, she went back behind the screen and changed again. Carefully setting the dress back down after coming out, she grabbed her holster and put it back on.
"I do appreciate this. What would you like in exchange?"
no subject
"Of course! It's no trouble at all." She paused, thinking, and that knowing smile reappeared on her face. "I would say I'd like a picture of his face when he sees you in your new dress, but I think a camera might ruin the moment. We can talk about it later, after your dress is finished. You can leave that to me. I'll let you know when it's ready for fittings. It shouldn't be too long."
no subject
"You know. I may be able to do that." She pointed. "One of theme is sneaky." There was a squeak from the bat in question. He knew she was talking about him. "Well, please just let me know, I will come back."

"Would you be willing to make him one of those bow ties I saw your spirit wear once before?" She'd have to find out if Ducky or Abby wanted something later.
