Every Time you Close Your Eyes

Characters: Roxas and Emizel
Content: Roxas faces the mansion
Location: Twilight Town, The mansion
Time: Afternoon
Warning: Potential existential crisis.

Roxas stared at the crack in the wall. Stood and stared for a long time.

Beyond that crack was the Mansion, the place where everything started, and ended he supposed. In other words, his destination. He'd avoided it for a long time. It brought memories, ones that he'd rather just leave behind and not face. The whole ordeal, those seven days in Twilight Town, was still a fresh wound, and extremely present at that.

Who could blame him? His life was on the line, and even though people had assured him that he wouldn't disappear, Roxas couldn't be sure. It had happened before, after all. And with Sora in such close proximity, who knew when his time was going to run out? There was a part of him that wanted to run away right now, and just ignore it. He'd get Bolin back here to seal it up and they'd never had to speak of it again.

Instead he went through. The logical part of his brain was speaking now, the part that said that if he wanted to get stronger, he'd have to face the mansion and the memories it held. And he had to get stronger. He had to get back at whatever had hit him on the Mother of Invention. He had to prove that he was allowed to exist. To himself, if not to anyone else.

He paused at the gate, sending a quick message to Emizel. He wasn't going to do this alone, and he would have to trust that Emizel wouldn't let him disappear.

There finally was the message he had been waiting for. There was only a couple of things it could have been. It obviously had to be somewhere in the last two worlds, and it clearly needed to be someone who was actually from one of those. The fact the location was at the mansion was both unsurprising and intriguing at the same time. The mystery around it apparently just kept getting weirder and weirder.

It didn't take Emizel too long to arrive out of the forest, but he wasn't sure how he felt that the one he was helping was none other than the one he had also been teaching magic to. Well, good to know he didn't randomly volunteer himself to a complete random stranger. Or worse yet, someone like Wash. This may make the trip jut a little more easier for at least one of them.

"So this is it?"
