Warnings: It's a Struggle, so there's going to be at least some combat
Notes: The rules of Struggle are simple: Each player has 100 colored orbs attached to their gear (usually a vest and helmet). Knock off and gather your opponent's orbs while keeping your own. The person with the most orbs at the end of the time limit wins the round. Special powers (magic and such) are not allowed - the vanilla humans need a chance to win too. Have fun!

It's a bright sunny morning in Twilight Town - or would be if it had mornings to speak of - but that's not what has the town all abuzz. No, that would be the fact that today marks the start of the Struggle tournament. All are, of course, welcome to come, so the question is really a simple one: who out there is ready to Struggle?

Round 2: Roxas vs York

[To be honest, Roxas had expected to win. In what he had of Sora's memories, he'd never seen the guy play a game of Struggle, so he doubted that Kairi had as well. It had been easy enough, but he hadn't really gotten a chance to talk with Kairi afterwards.

Shaking his head, he had to focus on the next fight. He'd watched the match and knew that York had beaten Xion. All the more reason to win, he figured, attaching a ball to his shoulder.

One he was ready, he turned to face York.]

[York nodded to the kid; hopefully this would be a good match. He didn't think that he'd necessarily be able to do what he'd done last time, but he thought he could manage.

He settled into a guard position as the ref declared the start of the match.]

[The thing about Roxas is that when it comes to struggle, his competitive side comes out. Even though, really, the only time he played the game was in the digital Twilight Town. It doesn't stop the feeling from seeming very real, and it's something he doesn't want to let go of.

He's the type that likes to win, and win fast, so he'll charge straight at York, determined to land the first blow.]

[York did not expect that Roxas would be able to actually launch him off his feet; he'd have to see if he could watch Roxas do that to someone else, because he'd gone right under York's guard and popped him up.

It was, York thought admiringly as he landed unsteadily on his feet, a great move.]

[He's used to fighting foes bigger than himself. Whether it's a heartless or nightmare or Setzer, he knows what he's doing. Seeing York's shakey landing, he kept up his attack, trying to prevent a counterattack.]

[York managed to guard, not that it does him all that much good; he's steady enough not to land on his ass but not enough to try to get all the balls that Roxas just knocked off him. Now he's stuck fighting defensively and if Roxas has any sense he'll keep it that way.]

[Roxas does keep up the attack. He could run around and try and pick up the balls he'd knocked off, but that would just waste time and leave him open. Better to keep his number the same and lower York's at the same time.

It was a fair strategy after all.]

[York finds himself still guarding and can't help but admire the kid; sure he's getting blown out of the water, but this kid definitely knows how to win this game. He tries to sidle back to where the balls are; maybe he can at least recover a few.]

[Roxas lays off for a moment, figuring he can give the guy a chance since he has been going all out, and his opponent seems to be a beginner. It won't last long though, since the time is running out.]

[York darts for the balls; maybe he'll lose but at least he won't lose THAT badly if he manages to get a bunch of them back.]

[It depends on how much a bunch is, because Roxas is not going to make it easy for him. He won't kick the balls away though, that would just be mean.]

[York keeps an eye on Roxas as well; the last thing he wants is to get launched again.]

[Well, Roxas has decided the respite period is over, and charges at York again. He might as well go for a flashy ending.]

[York manages not to be launched this time, but he does take a good whack to the side that knocks most of his remaining balls free.]

[One more attack ought to do it. This was pretty easy.]

Game over.

We have got to spar for real sometime.

[York knows he probably won't be able to dodge the next one but he definitely needs to train against someone who can get inside his guard like that.]

[It's that darn left side isn't it. Roxas makes one more charge to ensure his victory.]

It's not like I was holding back.

But I guess. Sometime.

Xion and I are already up for it sometime.

[It was a good match, and York intends to learn from this. Teenagers are apparently super fast]
