Because It's There [Open]
Characters: Wash and whomever wants to show up
Content: There's a brand new world out there. A little recon is in order.
Location: Twilight Town, starting at the train station
Time: TWILIGHT (okay late morning to early evening)
Warnings: It's Wash. This kind of carries its own warning at this point.
He wasn't about to admit it to anyone, but Wash was surprised at just how much he'd missed sunlight. Sure, it was more sunset than noon, but it was still the sun. Much as he liked Luna, he was getting tired of eternal night. When he'd heard that the new world on the other side of the freshly-opened keyhole was during the day (kind of), well, he'd figured a little reconnaissance couldn't hurt.
He'd been worried about Fang adjusting to Twilight Town - bats were nocturnal creatures, after all - but the Komory Bat didn't seem to mind the different level of light at all, squeaking happily and turning loops and circles in the air. He wanted to explore!
All told, that wasn't a bad idea. Wash shrugged and set off into town, Fang flapping along behind him.
[Pick a location, pick a time, pick a scenario - I'm open to just about anything. Have fun!]

I need happy!Ziva right now, hope you don't mind~ (I can change this if there's a problem)
Speaking of the bat, she felt him gently run into her back, between her shoulder blades. Turning, she saw him do a backwards loop, squeaking something that could have been interpreted as You're it! before taking off in the other direction. Laughing, she chased after him. Adults could play tag too, right?
She followed behind him as he set off towards the train station again, weaving around obstacles as he went. She was always close behind, and behind them, Abby followed, keeping watch in case nightmares appeared. Reaching the train station, she managed to catch him, jumping after him and catching him with her arms.
"Haha, got you!" She said with a laugh as she landed, watching as he tried to squirm his way out of her grip. She was still laughing at him when she felt a tap on her shoulder and saw Abby motioning towards someone nearby. "Hey Wash!" She shouted, finally letting her bat go and watching as he went to say hello as well.
Given my other threads, I think I might need happy!Wash, so this is perfect.
"Nice catch," he called back as Fang flew forward to meet Fluffy, flying in a circle around the other bat before taking off as fast as he could. It was almost tradition for the two of them at this point. "Here to get some sun?"

"A bit. And to get out into somewhere new. I was getting bored with being in the same place." Understatement of the year.

Because we mentioned needing more CR for these two ^^;;;
Rest had been needed after the climb, too. The way back down was a little easier, but she still felt like she'd gotten a good workout when she got back down to Station Square and saw one of North's friends...Washington, maybe? "Hello."
Pooh went over to say hello to the bat, followed by Barkley.
Of course!

He thought he remembered the name of this world from one of Eraqus' lectures, about how worlds could be situated in different realms and how some of them were closer to Darkness and some of them were closer to Light, while some of them were right in between. He knew the Land of Departure was one of those in-between worlds, and some memory was telling him Twilight Town was, too, so it was worth checking out for that reason alone, right? Traverse Town was nice, but maybe this place would feel more like home and not just some cosmic waystation.
So, with Wheeler and Linka tagging along behind him, Ven made the crossing, emerging at the train station in Sunset Terrace - a small frown starting on his face as he looked around the area. Something wasn't... right...

That was when he heard Wash's voice. " Oh - hi there, " he responded, giving the man a smile that was certainly more than normally distracted. It also faded pretty quickly, the distraction remaining, though he didn't start frowning again. "You wanted to look around, too?"

Of course, she isn't the only one exploring, someone in armor, unless York carried extra colors of armor they were probably at least aware of each other. Still weird, but better than pink bats. "Think there'll be a world of sunrise and a world of high noon to cover the full run?"

"I didn't think it would be, but if we had a full set of worlds we could have a decent sleep rhythm," Not that she ever was used to a decent sleep rhythm, but she's heard they do wonders for stress. "It isn't like crossing between this town and the other one is hard."

The fact that he already had a certain familiarity with Twilight Town was unimportant. Assuming that the world was sleeping in the same manner that Traverse Town was meant to be sleeping, there would no doubt be Nightmares present and even beyond that there was certainly no reason to assume that things would be as they were when he'd last seen it. It was, after all, in the nature of worlds to change.
Unsurprisingly, it was Aeleus' Meow Wow that came to say hello first, bounding over in that particularly enthusiastic way that seems to almost be part of the nature of the entire species.

Fang's squeaking alerted Wash and he looked behind him. This was Aeleus, he remembered; he'd seen him on the network and Ienzo had mentioned him, but he hadn't actually talked to him yet. "Hey," he nodded in greeting. Might as well start things.

Aeleus, on the other hand, was much more subdued about the whole affair, and just as well. Though he wouldn't deny it suited some people, he'd never been well-suited to it (and just as well, most likely). Instead, he offered a polite nod in return. "Good afternoon."

"Hey, wait up!"

Fang wheeled around and streaked after Max, easily keeping pace with the Meow Wow. Hey! Where're you going?
no subject
"Yeah, I decided to come check things out after all. Max seemed to want some company."

He stepped across the streets of Sunset Hill with Chuza and Kura in tow; both of them more than thrilled to get to explore someplace new. Even Chuza was displaying a lot more energy, bouncing about everywhere. For the moment, it seemed prudent to stake out a base of operations before really exploring.

Wash glanced over his shoulder, waiting for Eraqus to come closer before speaking up. "Hey. Ever seen this place before?" His immediate assumption was that anyone with a giant key probably knew more about these worlds than him. It hadn't steered him too wrong so far, even if quite a few of the answers he'd gotten had been cagey at best.
no subject
While Eraqus had been to a number of different worlds (some of them which Wash would likely find quite strange), this didn't happen to be one of them. "No, actually. I felt it would be good to do as much exploring as possible." And it looked like Wash had had the same idea.
