The Fifth Sign
Who: Anyone who wants to participate
What: The zapapple harvest!
Where: Ponyville, Sweet Apple Acres, the orchard where the Zapapple trees are growing
When: Afternoon
Warnings: None yet.
A lightning storm crackles over the orchard, lighting the sky with electricity for minutes on end. Only when it fades does a rainbow arch across the sky. As if by magic - and it may well be - the gray apples on the trees suddenly grow to three times their size and gain rainbow stripes. It looks like the zapapples are ripe and ready for picking. There's buckets and barrels in the barn - best get started before the sun goes down and they disappear.
As for that howling in the distance...well, surely it's nothing.
[Anyone can join; this plot is friendly for combatants and non-combatants alike; no tag order; further instructions as events warrant. Have fun!]

Her ears flicked once, one back and the other towards the forest, before Carolina turned to face Wash rather than avoid or ignore him. Both were still options, but she had no reason to turn to them now. He was back, and she'd have to deal with it.
"It's why I haven't brought mine out yet," she shrugged. Lela. Enough said. Or not said, as the case may be. "I take it they've been sticking to you like glue since you got back?"

"Well, Puddles sat on me and Lady knocked me out for half the day, so yeah, you can say that. At least Fang doesn't cause too much collateral damage." They'd all been undeniably happy to see him, that was for sure, but he could only take so many bruises.

It took her a minute to place 'Puddles' (she had yet to meet Lady), but given what she knew of Wash's spirits, Carolina wasn't surprised to hear they'd greeted him so happily. Especially given how much pleasure the little bat radiated to have his person back again. "It's nice to know that there's someone pleased to see you when you get back." Her words lacked an edge, perhaps overly honest, but whatever else she might have wanted to say was interrupted by a long wolf chorus from over yonder, snapping her attention around immediately.
"That sound keeps getting closer." Ears flattened against red hair. "I don't like it."

Wash wasn't entirely sure how to respond to that one. Carolina didn't sound bitter, but that didn't necessarily mean she wasn't. She was probably still upset over York's disappearance, after all. He was saved having to think of a reply when the howls sounded, and he tensed.
"I didn't think we had wolf Nightmares," he muttered, shaking his shoulders and sending Fang back into the air. "Go take a look," he told the bat. "Don't get too close if it's dangerous." Fang squeaked once and took off towards the sound.

If there was bitterness, she was keeping it well out of the way of this conversation. Being upset at him wouldn't change anything, particularly on things neither of them had influence over or could change - here or back in their own reality.
It wasn't as though Wash was responsible for York disappearing, after all.
"We don't. There are lions, and tigers, and bears," oh my, "but no wolf-type nightmares." Carolina grimaced as Fang was sent off, not at the bat but at the situation. "Unless there are a few variants that Sora and that absent white haired kid neglected to mention. And the only wolf I'm aware of in the dreams is the white one that turns into wood when its in Ponyville." She shook her head slightly. "Rarity called it a 'timberwolf'."

Timberwolves wouldn't be a patch on the Meta. ...Could they?

She was quiet for a minute, ignoring the howling in the distance, before stomping a rear foot irritably. "The setting might be familiar. But if this is a dream, then we're always going to be lacking context." And while she'd always been at her best when improvising, that didn't mean she liked it anymore than he did in this given situation. "When thinks aren't changing is when we should be worried."
