He was, of course, glossing over a lot of really terrifying things - like what Dracula did immediately following the death of his second bride. Something told him the phrase 'mass impalements' wouldn't go over too well. Likewise the fact that he had killed one of the other candidates before he came here, and thus recaptured that portion of Dracula's soul. See? He does have some tact.

"I think it was more that was the only place they could put it, actually. There's some pretty heavy magic involved, I won't pretend to know all of it, but anyplace the castle turned up before was enveloped in an endless night. It had to be someplace where the light of day would always surround it, but never quite touch it. Plus, eclipses are predictable, and they could keep agents in the area where one was going to pass over. It wasn't a perfect solution, but it was the best they could do. It probably would've worked, if I wasn't the boyfriend best friend of the shrinekeeper's granddaughter."

All that aside, what he was doing now was most definitely not intentional, and he made a conscious effort to rein it in (so to speak). "Dark and powerful pretty much covers what's inside me, but I'd really rather not advertise it. As for controlling it... there's really not much more I can do, aside from finding some way to confront chaos itself. I was kind of on my way to do that before I ended up in the dream world."
