Initiating Training Simulation [Event]
Characters: FILSS, whoever follows up on her post
Content: FILSS opens the large training room for maintenance purposes.
Location: Mother of Invention, large training room (previously unopened)
Time of Day: 1800 hours, the day after this post.
Warnings: Sassy AI?
Despite minor setbacks, FILSS had managed to stay functional long enough to make sure the large training facility would open as planned. It wasn't exactly as though monitoring the timer was taxing on her systems.
She waited as people arrived, greeting them and attempting to prepare them for what exactly she would need in terms of maintenance to the best of her capabilities.
[This is a mod-run event. Feel free to tag your characters arriving and talking with each other; you do not need to wait for an NPC tag just yet. In the interests of keeping it at a manageable size, this thread is limited to 12 characters. If you play multiple characters, please only tag in one of them. We would like to keep this thread moving, so please tag in if you can do at least one tag per day. Have fun!]

Some days, he hated being right.
Wash hit the ground with a loud crack, the impact knocking the wind out of him. Pain seared through his body, and his HUD automatically pulled up a damage report: cracked ribs, left arm broken in two places, fractured tibia, moderate concussion, and a host of other injuries that all added up to put him in pretty bad shape. He was lucky he hadn't broken his spine, though that was hard to remember through the haze of pain. He gasped, sharp and painful, trying to catch his breath as he slowly pushed himself to a sitting position - owowfuckOW - and fished a potion out of his storage compartment. He tore his helmet off and downed the potion between labored breaths, sighing as his head cleared and the pain eased. It wasn't gone - even without the report on his HUD, he knew he was still pretty fucked up - but he could work through this, at least. It helped that the healing unit was kicking in.
"Melody? Puddles?" Melody meowed in response from several yards away, rolling to her feet and padding over to him. She'd landed on her feet, of course, and had immediately flopped over - on top of the damage she'd taken from that Eaglider, her paws hurt, but if her person needed her, she'd be there. Puddles was several feet away - he'd landed in a heap and was unresponsive. "Shit," Wash murmured, moving closer to the Thunderaffe and hissing in pain. Evidently working through this kind of pain didn't involve much more than sitting up; he'd need another potion or two himself before he could think about walking again, but that wasn't what he was focused on now. He tilted Puddles' head slightly, uncorked another potion, and tilted it into Puddles' mouth, letting it trickle down his throat. After a few moments, Puddles whined pitifully. It hurt to hear, but at least Wash knew he was on the right track. "Hey. You're gonna be fine," he told him, uncorking another potion. He knew he had other people to check up on, a status report to get from FILSS, and repairs to do if the doors at the opposite end of the room ever opened, but for now, this was the most he could handle.
Seeing this, Melody meowed at Lela. Hey! Put that thing down and get your person to help my person! He's hurt!

He frowned, then set his jaw. Not on my watch.
Reaching into his coat, he withdrew his second super potion and stepped toward her. "I can help, if someone else can prop her up," he said, showing the phial for anyone interested to examine. "This will heal anything short of amputation, but... it's going to hurt, and this is my last one."
Tepes, meanwhile, had come to roost on its person's shoulder. It seemed inclined to stay there, and was attempting to nuzzle his cheek (and perhaps applying a bit of its own healing magic; though Soma didn't know it, the floofy little dingbat had been assisting him rather more than its antics let on during that battle, mostly with Haste spells).

"FILSS? Report. What's your status?" Carolina requested again, meanwhile, keeping concern out of her voice. Encouragement to assist wasn't strictly required, however: Lela's Person had spun aboutface immediately when Kat had yelled about civillians. She hadn't see them fall, but Carolina was glad no one can see her expression at the sight of both Washington and Ziva's injuries. But she only started to move once Lela headbutted her knee, shaking her free of momentary distraction.
With both Soma and Kat closest to the other woman, along with both the Alicorns, the former Freelancer moved instead towards Wash. Weapon was still held ready, but she used her right hand to free several of the potion bottles stored in one of her suit's compartments. "Here," she said firmly, offering the first to him even as he used his own set to help poor Puddles. "You need this as much as he does right now."
She regretted not having a meow wow or something similar of her own right now: if Lela knew any healing spells, she had no idea. The Frootz Cat certainly didn't seem to, anyway.

"Oh, stars..." Healing magic was always more her sister's suit. Luna had more than enough strength for it, true, but it tended to be a lot more subtle than her own style of magic. Well, knitting bones was simple enough. "Do hold still." She lowered her horn to his ribs, the worst of the injuries that she was actually willing to treat, and started weaving her magic to knit them back together. Head injuries would be left entirely to the professionals. Or, in this case, the professional sun princess.

So saying, she lowered her head, and poured power into her horn. Healing light shone out brightly, a warmth that would soothe and reinvigorate any it fell on, though her focus was on mending the damage Ziva had took.

As the healing magic washed over Ziva, he felt the power behind it lap at the edges of his own, singeing the darkness inside him at the same time it replenished his reserves. Not completely; it would take more direct attention and a lot longer to do that, but enough to know that he could continue the fight if necessary.

"Luna, I'm f-" Despite his half-formed protest, Wash froze when she told him to. The best thing to do when someone was magically fucking around with your insides was probably follow their instructions. He waited until the spell was complete to breathe again - admittedly, his ribs did feel better. "Luna, I'm fine," he tried again. "Help someone who needs it." He looked around, trying to see if there was someone else who could better use her help. There was someone lying down next to Celestia a few yards away-
His stomach plummeted to the floor when he realized just who that was.
He got his feet under him almost automatically and pushed off in a sprint-
Or he would have if his broken leg hadn't buckled under him the second he'd put weight on it, leaving him sprawling on the ground, trying not to yell as the impact rattled through his already severe injuries. Trying to push himself up met with the same amount of success, as his broken arm refused to hold weight either and sent him face first into the floor yet again. He'd have to trust Celestia to help Ziva; there wasn't anything he could do like this.
At least his ribs were okay.

When Luna walked over, there was a sharp tilt of her helmet, and stiffened when the alicorn lowered her horn. "What are you--" she cut herself off, the sharp edge to her voice brought about by wariness stoppered at once. Whatever the dislike between human and alicorn, obviously Luna was doing something to help (whether Carolina liked it or not) and distracting her wouldn't be wise.
Especially since the magic genuinely seemed to be helping. The glances towards Luna became a little less antagonistic, almost...respectful as Carolina remained crouched beside Wash, waiting until the spell was over - which was for the best, really: when he faceplanted the first time, she swore. Of course he'd go for Ziva, but this was rash even for him. "Jesus, Wash," she snapped, "Aggravating your injuries will make you of no use to anyone. Stay still." At least Carolina didn't grab his bad arm, ready though she was for the second attempt - as was Lela, who moved at once to intercept the second fall with her body, allowing the injured freelancer a berry scented cushion for his face.
She squeaked with the impact and dropped her prize, the chip skittering away on the floor. But she didn't move until she heard otherwise - from Melody or her Person. Lela did turn her head to lick at Wash's forehead as reassuringly as possible, though.

Opening her eyes, she grimaced when looking at her hand, then at the man holding her down...then to the glowing pony. This....wasn't what she expected at all. Her mind had put her elsewhere. Groaning, she made a waving motion with her hand.
"You can let go. I will not move if I should not move." She was still sore, but she could tell the magic was working. Blinking, she looked around, confused at where she was and what was going on. She'd figure that out later.

He tried to smile, but it came off as more of a pained grimace. He -tried- to say "Sorry, had to be sure you wouldn't hurt yourself more by moving while unconscious," but what came out was nigh-unintelligible owing to the bloodflow from his shattered nose. With a sigh (and an internal cringe at what he was sure was going to be quite a lot of pain), he reached up and expertly set the breaks back in place. Thankfully the pain, although excruciating, didn't last long; Celestia's magic saw to that.

A millennium of practice in being warm, soothing, and reassuring went into that voice. She held her smile on Ziva till she was sure the message had been properly received, then looked up to Soma. "Now, may I address your injury?"
no subject
Aside from that, he was following orders for once and not getting up - not that he was entirely certain he could anyways. At least he could hear Ziva talking. That was a good sign.
Melody limped over, picking up the little metal square in her mouth on the way. She settled in at her person's side, nudging gently at him. She was hurting, but that didn't mean she wanted him to get even worse, jeez! And she wasn't taking it, Lela - she's holding your prize, like you're holding her person. It's a trade, at least temporarily.
no subject
Of course, he was already exhausted, so every little bit he didn't have to do himself was a blessing.
True to his word, it didn't take long, or even all that much of Celestia's power; the washover from her healing of Ziva would have been plenty to set it right, and more direct attention only accelerated the process.
no subject
She put no questions to him about his healing, merely aided the process. Some of her magic went to very fine telekinesis, realigning everything properly. (Seriously, resetting it manually? Ouch.)
When she finished, she lifted her head at last, then gave it a long shake to clear it.

"Sun and moon, Washington," she added, joining in with Carolina for once. "Thou hast the self-preservation instincts of a phoenix. Celestia taught me all the healing magic I know - Ziva will be well. Let me see to thy arm."

(..Well, the gravity DID get switched off. Did that count?)
The cursing did get a sharp look directed at both of the equine princesses, but since it didn't seem to have some sort of negative effect, Carolina remained in a sportive position. Utterly unaware of Melody and Lela's trade-off. Any 'shiny prize' that wasn't a dream piece hadn't clicked yet.
And no response from FILSS. The redhaired Freelancer was both upset and concerned by that turn of events - but nothing else seemed to be showing up now the room had been emptied. "I don't think we're going to learn anything more now."
Maybe that was enough to deflect further dreaming? (No, probably not.)
